1 Overview This NOS sets out the skills, knowledge and understanding for you to confirm relevant information required about electronic security systems and sites to plan and co-ordinate installations. This NOS covers the following activities: 1. Confirm the details of electronic security system requirements 2. Plan and co-ordinate the use of resources to install electronic security systems 3. Organise first fixes of installation
2 Performance criteria Confirm the details of electronic security system requirements You must be able to: P1 P2 P3 P4 confirm that you have all the information and details required to plan system installations and that it is current and accurate confirm that specified systems are compatible with site characteristics and are capable of meeting operational requirements confirm the availability of transmission and system components record details of variations from original specification accurately and fully Plan and co-ordinate the use of resources to install electronic security systems You must be able to: P5 confirm that you have all the relevant details of work activities required to plan system installations, and that they are accurate and complete P6 communicate and agree working arrangements with customers and third parties where necessary, that are mutually acceptable P7 confirm that all necessary resources will be available when required P8 produce project plans that are realistic and in formats that are suitable for their purpose P9 anticipate and plan contingency action to deal with potential problems with work schedules or arrangements P10 safely identify the presence of electrical supply, into and inside, electronic security systems equipment P11 identify the means for safe isolation of electrical supply systems Organise first fixes of installation You must be able to: P12 select the correct types of transmission and system components for the site characteristics and installation, containments and fixings to suit P13 provide details of first fixes to the people involved with installations in suitable formats and within agreed timescales
