9 In Colorado SUMMET The Summer Minority Engineering Training (SUMMET) Program is a three week residential science and engineering program for talented high school sophomore and junior students who are strong in science and math. Applications due April 29th for the 2011 program Engineering Junior Camp Two-week resident program on the beautiful campus of the University of Denver with 24-hour supervision, hands on learning, opportunity to attend exciting field trips, and exploring the development of future technologies. Applications open until filled

10 In Colorado Tech Camp (Middle School) Tech Camp 101 is a free summer technology camp offered to Adams County School District 50 and Aurora Public Schools middle school students. The camps are hosted by the Colorado School of Mines and the Community College of Aurora. During the one week camp, students work with state of the art technology in a hands-on environment. They are given a jump start in preparation for a career in science and technology. Students are encouraged to return for new topics each summer. Tech Club Two-week Tech Club is an after-school club providing 14 contact hours over the course of a semester with each of four high schools. Each year has a different theme; however, the projects that high school students will work on are designed to be completed in a single semester. This ensures that students with schedule conflicts one semester might still be able to participate later without experiencing a disadvantage.

11 Nationwide Google Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) Google is invested in increasing the enrollment and retention of Computer Science students, particularly those who are historically underrepresented in the field. Up to 60 aspiring computer scientists will be selected to attend one of the all-expenses-paid CSSI sessions at Googleʼs headquarters in Mountain View, California. This special institute will include an interactive and collaborative CS curriculum, as well as a unique residential experience in which students can build a network with other attendees.
