The manual provides useful information about the services which Ituran offers you, the customer. 4 General Ituran Tracking and Control Ltd. is a public company traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The company operates in Israel and around the world and has a number of subsidiaries. Ituran is a communications company engaged in the development of vehicle communications, tracking, management and protection, equipment, goods and personal security solutions and guidance and information services for drivers, based on sophisticated and unique technology. In addition, the company also engages in installation, marketing and development of cellular products and advanced communications systems for vehicles. Significant funds were invested in the development of the Ituran system by giant companies and it was developed based on a tracking instrument for pilots in distress. The Ituran system uses technology based on an extensive and exclusive land infrastructure that is not dependent on satellite communications. Ituran s unique technology is based on measuring transmission arrival times from the end unit (DTOA - Differential Time of Arrival) to dozens of transmission and reception stations located around Israel. The reception times are transferred via relay stations to the main system computer where, based on the differences in reception times, the location of the vehicle is calculated with an accuracy of several meters. The unique location method gives the Ituran system robustness in difficult and hostile environmental conditions, and a high degree of accuracy.

5 Theft Prevention How does the system work? - As soon as the alarm system is activated, a signal is transmitted from the Ituran device to the company s control center. As soon as a call is received from the vehicle various data are received, regarding: the precise location of the vehicle, the motion of the vehicle, the status of the alarm system, operation of the vehicle's sensors, and other data that enable the control center to identify the severity of the call. According to the situation, a decision is made about how to act with regard to your vehicle. How the call center works - Ituran invests significant efforts in order to reduce the need to make telephone contact and request the customer's help. In situations where the condition of the vehicle is unclear, checking and diagnosis may be performed by: Computerized monitoring of the vehicle and checking if its situation does not change and, in particular, that the situation does not deteriorate. Contacting the customer, or his representative, by telephone. Dispatching patrol forces to the area, and even alerting additional security forces, such as the Israel Police, the Border Police, the IDF, etc. Field Operational Array - Ituran s patrol array comprises veterans of combat units equipped with four-wheel drive vehicles, cars, motorcycles and aircraft. These patrol personnel are dispatched to handle theft and other events. The patrol and enforcement array is supported by additional security forces, such as the Israel Police, the IDF, etc.

6 Code Remote Control System Operation (If your vehicle has a keyboard, go to page 7) The Ituran system you purchased for your vehicle is controlled by an encoded remote control. This patent developed by Ituran prevents non-authorized persons from using the vehicle even if they have the remote control in their possession. The operational range of the remote control is around 5 meters from the vehicle. Neutralizing the Alarm System Press Key in the code numbers in sequence (be sure to hold the last code button for one and a half seconds). The alarm system will respond with a siren beep and one flash of the vehicle s system lights, respectively. - If you enter the code incorrectly, repeat these steps from the beginning. - Three incorrect attempts will activate the alarm. Correct input of the code will neutralize the alarm. Arming the Alarm System Press. The system will respond with two siren beeps and two flashes of the vehicle s system lights. - If you leave the vehicle without locking it (arming it) with the remote control, the Ituran system will automatically arm itself after 30 minutes. This is called passive arming (it does not activate the central locking system of the vehicle).

7 What do you do when your vehicle is in the garage? When you leave your vehicle in the garage for servicing, or in a parking lot, there is the problem of divulging your code. In such circumstances it is possible to program the remote control to work without a code. To use this option, see the explanation: Programming the remote control to operate without a code Make sure the alarm system is neutralized (the alarm control light is off). Turn on the ignition switch and leave it on. Within 15 seconds, press 1 and 2 simultaneously for 5 seconds. The alarm control light will come on and there will be 3 beeps. As of now, you will be able to open your vehicle by pressing 2 only, and lock it by pressing. Canceling the programming Make sure the alarm system is neutralized (the alarm control light is off). Press 1 and 2 simultaneously for 5 seconds. The alarm control light will go off. As of now, the remote control will revert to working as a code remote control. - A15-minute drive will automatically cause the remote control to revert to code status.

8 Operating the Keyboard System The model of the system installed in your vehicle is controlled by a keyboard. This patent was developed to provide maximum ease of use for the customer, while the keyboard installed in the vehicle prevents unauthorized persons from using the vehicle even if they are in possession of the vehicle s remote control. There are three models of this Ituran system: A Model Integrated with original protection (with an original remote control provided by the importer) Remote control and keyboard From Ituran Identification When leaving the vehicle and locking it with the remote control the light on the keyboard begins to flash slowly B Passive (with an original remote control provided by the importer) The light is off when leaving the vehicle and locking it with the remote control Neutralizing the Alarm System Open the vehicle with the remote control System A will react with one siren beep and one flash of the vehicle lights, or 3 siren beeps and 3 flashes. System B has an option to operate without siren beeps. When you enter the vehicle, if the control light on the keyboard is flashing, press on the keyboard, followed immediately by the code numbers in sequence (you have 2 minutes to enter the code before the alarm is activated). After the code has been entered there will be 3 beeps which indicate that the system has been neutralized (the control light will go off). - If you enter the code incorrectly, repeat these steps from the beginning. - Four unsuccessful attempts to enter the code will activate the alarm. Correct entry after activating the alarm will neutralize the system.

9 Arming the Alarm System Press the lock button on the remote control. System A will respond with 2 siren beeps and vehicle light flashes, respectively. The LED on the keyboard will begin to flash. If a single beep is heard, check that all the vehicle doors are shut firmly. In system B Ituran s control system is the keyboard. Therefore, with this model, the Ituran system will arm automatically 10 minutes after switching off the ignition (leaving the vehicle) and only then will the LED on the keyboard begin to flash. There may be siren beeps and the vehicle lights may flash as a control of the original alarm installed in the vehicle. Please note: - The optimal range for activating the remote control is about 5 meters from the vehicle. - You must wait 3 seconds between arming and neutralizing, and vice versa. - Leaving the vehicle without locking it (arming it) using the remote control will trigger automatic arming, after 10 minutes, of the Ituran system only. This is called passive arming (it does not activate the central locking system of the vehicle). - For rapid arming, you have 30 seconds after turning off the ignition. Keep the button pressed down (until you hear a long beep). The Ituran system will arm within one minute of sounding the beep. - There are vehicles in which, according to the manufacturer s instructions, the Ituran system is not linked to the siren or vehicle lights. Therefore, siren beeps and light flashes may vary from one vehicle to another.

10 Changing The Secret Code on the Keyboard The code may be changed on the keyboard from time to time, and at any time (the code must have four digits). To change the code, perform the following steps: Make sure the Ituran system is neutralized (the control light on the keyboard is off). Turn on the ignition and leave it on (dashboard lights are on). Press, followed immediately by 1, 2, 3, 4 in sequence. The keyboard will sound 3 beeps (the system enters programming mode). Press, followed by the new code. The keyboard will confirm the entry with 2 short beeps. For final confirmation, press again, followed by the new code. The keyboard will confirm acceptance of the code with a continuous beep of about 2 seconds. Turn off the ignition. The Ituran system in your vehicle is now programmed for the new code. There are certain sequences of code numbers which cannot be programmed, they are: 1111, 2222, 3333, 4444, 5555, 6666, 7777, 8888, 1234, 4321, 6789, 8765, 5432, When you leave your vehicle in a garage or parking lot, where you are required to disclose the secret code, you may do so and change the code afterwards, at your discretion and at your convenience.

11 Replacing the Batteries When the range of the remote control/s decreases significantly, you should consider replacing the batteries. The alarm system remote control uses one battery of the following type: CR 2032 Lithium 3V (for remote controls with 5 buttons and 3 buttons). 23A 12V (for remote controls with 2 buttons). Open the remote control using a coin. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new battery, then close the remote control. Note the orientation of the battery, according to the + and - ends.

12 Distress Button (for service users only) In an emergency, act as follows: Press the two distress buttons (foot button and hand button) simultaneously. (Some vehicles do not have a foot button.) The control light on the dashboard will flash slowly in red. As soon as the call is received at Ituran s national control center, the light will turn green, confirming receipt of the call. The light will go out after 5 minutes. Please note: Pressing the distress button leads to an immediate alert of the security forces by Ituran s national control center. If the distress button is activated by mistake you must immediately contact Ituran s national control center by calling and notify them that it was a false alarm. Checking the distress button - subscribers to this service may check that the button is in proper working order, once a month, from 20:00 (8 p.m). The test service is provided by the customer service center, at phone number , or *325 from any cellular telephone.

15 Warranty Certificate We hereby undertake to repair all malfunctions and to replace any faulty part in the device described below manufactured by Ituran Tracking and Control Ltd. during one year from the day of supply (unless otherwise specified on the contractual engagement form). The warranty does not cover breakage of the device and/or use not in accordance with the device operating instructions and/or does not apply to a device installed not by authorized installation personnel and/or in a case of a fault due to a natural disaster and/or a traffic accident and/or fire damage and/or dampness and/or theft damage. Any change in the structure of the device and/or in its number or details nullifies the warranty. The warranty on remote controls, remote control batteries and backup batteries is for one year only. If the device is replaced due to a fault, the warranty period will start from the day on which the first Ituran system was delivered. Subject to all law, the company s responsibility is limited to repair and/or replacement of the product or any part of it, and the purchaser will not be eligible for any other remedy from the company or any of the company s representatives for any direct or indirect damage, shortcoming or expense caused to him or to any third party as a result of a fault in the product or its installation.
