4 Mission AFIL aims to promote and facilitate research and innovation regarding practices and enabling technologies for the manufacturing sector in order to support and develop the Lombardy production system leadership and competitiveness. To set up a STABLE COMMUNITY by connecting companies, Universities, Research Institutions and Associations, thus favouring COOPERATION by promoting RESEARCH AND INNOVATION projects and initiatives. To be a REFERENCE counterpart for the REGION for the definition of RESEARCH and INNOVATION strategies in the MANUFACTURING sector. To support the development of a Research and Innovation INTERREGIONAL NETWORK through the participaton to CFI INTELLIGENT FACTORY NATIONAL CLUSTER and the connection with different EUROPEAN REGIONS within the SMART SPECIALIZATION strategy.

26 Pilot initiatives: objectives The main goal of the pilot is to integrate a multidisciplinary set of advanced and innovative enabling technologies (TRL8) and to use the regional know-how, gathered from high-tech technology providers, universities and research centres, to offer a service to end-users, mainly manufacturing companies, to solve specific sustainability-oriented problems related to their products. Example: Wind Energy System By 2034, some tonnes of rotor blade material have to be treated annually worldwide. Market growth of M by Goal: Recover composites. Reuse composite in other industrial sectors (aeronautics and construction).
