1 A Quick Guide to the Lab-Call Cloud

2 Welcome to Lab-Call, the most complete and easiest to use alert and monitoring solution for refrigerated medications. By the time you read this manual Lab-Call will have configured your text alert and web environment to be easily accessed by you. With lab-call you have the ability to receive alerts for temperature excursions and power failures 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These alerts are sent to you via text message and . You also have the ability to view the current status of your alerts via a secure website on the Internet. In addition lab-call collects temperature readings 24 hours a day and stores this information in a secured environment in the Internet cloud. Access to Lab-Call is fast, secure and easy. Lab-call was developed by clinics for clinics. As such we always welcome comments. If you have suggestions for us please send them to support@lab-call.com. Real-Time Texting and Features In the event of a temperature excursion, power outage or some other exception, eligible clinic staff (as defined by you) will receive alerts on both their cell phone(in the form of a text message) and in their chosen accounts. This message will look something like this: MPEDS1: Frig too Hot last 35 minutes Current Temp 50F, Normal Range 35-46F Recovery plan access: bit.ly/vrp-mp (if you have a your recovery plan stored with us in the cloud) From the above message you can see that it indicates that the refrigerator is too hot, states how long the temperature has been out of range and provides the current temperature. The normal temperature range for storage of frozen-refrigerated medications is also provided. In addition, lab-call provides a link to your vaccine recovery plan (which Lab-Call will store in the cloud). If you have an Android or iphone you will be able to have that plan delivered directly to that device. Anyone on the Alert list can stop the text and alerts by responding to the text or with the letters ACK. Upon acknowledgment lab-call will cease sending the alerts for a period of two hours. This means that if someone on your staff acknowledges the alert they now own the action of implementing the vaccine recovery plan! The Lab-Call cloud will record the phone number and of the staff member who acknowledges the alert! The text alerts will come from the phone number

3 Logging into the Lab-Call Cloud 1) Sign into the Lab-Call Cloud by going to the Lab-Call website (lab-call.com) and clicking on the customer log in tab: It is important to bookmark this site as it will provide faster access for you when you check on the status of the refrigerators every day. 2) Enter the address and password provided to you by Lab-Call:

4 3) This will take you to a screen with a list of your devices. The devices refer by name to refrigeration units at your clinic. You and Lab-Call have agreed on terminology to insure that the naming conventions are consistent with your locations. 4) Click on the Refrigerator you wish to see (in this example PSPA-Lab). This will take you to a screen that looks like this:

5 This screen summarizes the current state of the refrigerator and freezer. From this screen you can view the last seven days worth of daily ranges, a quick reference to the high and low points for each day, probe expiration dates, and a graphical representation of any temperature excursions that occurred within the last four hours. By hovering on the temperature bar for an individual day you will see the minimum and maximum temperatures for that day. The lower right portion of the screen contains a series of hotlinks: Temperature History: this link will provide you with logs for both daily temperatures (taken every hour) and the temperatures during an event. Lab-Call stores up to three years worth of these logs in a secure web environment. Your Vaccine Recovery Plan: this link takes you to the vaccine recovery plan you developed with the assistance of lab-call. General Outage Instructions and Temperature Patterns: this link takes you to commonly encountered temperature patterns, diagnosis and possible solutions. Vaccine Manufacturer Contact List: this link will take you to a list of vaccine manufacturers, their websites and emergency telephone numbers.

6 The temperature history document looks like this: The refrigerator or location names are identified by the tabs at the top of the spreadsheet. You can pick a tab and scroll anywhere in that document with the most recent entries being listed at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Whether you have one refrigerator in a clinic or 20 refrigerators across 20 clinics you'll be able to review their status and history on this page. Lab-Call is recording the temperature every hour. In addition we are recording exception events as they occur. Temperature excursions will be entered into the spreadsheet after the first 15 min. Thereafter every time the temperature changes 1 an entry will be made until the device returns back to normal. Power outages will be listed as they occur and when power is restored. You will be able to calculate the time of each temperature excursion or power outage by looking at the times and dates in the spreadsheet. Out of range conditions will look like this: Or

7 The graphical representation showing the real time temperatures during a power outage is indicated below: You will note that once the temperature returns to normal range the graphical representation stops. After that point what you see in the graph will be normal readings or a note stating that there is no meaningful data to display. This is normal. The CDC guidelines for vaccine temperature are: The acceptable temperature ranges for vaccines are: Freezer = -15 degrees C or colder (-50 F to 5 F) Refrigerator = between 2 degrees C and 8 degrees C (35 F to 46 F)

9 Logging out of Lab-Call To log out of the Lab-Call cloud click on your lab-call to engage the drop down menu. From that point, click on Log-Out :
