Street Driving Performance and Techniques 1. The candidate shall demonstrate the ability to drive all different models of front line apparatus. The candidate shall explain abnormal conditions which may result in equipment damage or unsafe fireground conditions, and explain corrective measures. a. The candidate shall develop a system that provides him/her with a step-by-step procedure to troubleshoot and correct problems that occur while pumping

Leaking oil, water, and/or fuel 3. Overheating of the engine 4. Overheating of pump water while not using a hose line 5. Unable to get a prime 6. Unable to keep a prime 7. Pump will not develop sufficient pressure 8. Unable to get a pressure reading 9. Pump unable to supply needed flow 10. Relief valve inoperative or slow acting 11. Total break down of fire pump a. Supply a pre-connect at proper engine pressure from tank water c. Demonstrate the ability to change from tank to hydrant d.
