3 The St. Elizabeth s Hospital PGY-1 Practice Residency is affiliated with the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) School of Pharmacy. Our residents receive faculty appointments within the Department of Pharmacy Practice and have a widerange of interest-dependent teaching opportunities. Teaching Certificate In collaboration with the SIUE School of Pharmacy, the St. Elizabeth pharmacy resident will have the opportunity to earn a teaching certificate through a hybrid, web-based learning platform. Self-directed learning modules guide the resident through important concepts in preparation for delivery of formal didactic lectures, small-group facilitation, precepting of students, and assessment. The Hospital Established in 1875, St. Elizabeth s Hospital is an affiliate of the Hospital Sisters Health System. St. Elizabeth s Hospital serves the Southern Illinois-St. Louis metropolitan area with over 40 medical specialties and a broad range of services, from a SCPC accredited Chest Pain Center to a Level II+ Special Care nursery.
