First Time Entering Freshmen Making your Payments If you wish to stay on-campus, please be sure to pay both your Housing Deposit and Housing Application Fee for the semester you will be staying. You can make this payment through your student ebill in MyCharleston under the Academic Services tab.

Then select Open my ebill account. Under the ebill screen, select the Deposits tab and the semester you are applying for. Note: If you are applying for the entire Academic Year, you only need to pay the Fall Housing Deposit and Fee Select the Housing Application Fee from the dropdown list.

Make your payment of the Housing Application Fee, and then repeat the steps to pay the Housing Deposit. Both the Housing Application Fee and Housing Deposit must be paid to sign up for on-campus housing. These fees are not required to sign up for a meal plan.

Applying for Housing After paying your Housing Application Fee and Housing Deposit, you may sign up for Housing through MyHousing under MyCharleston. This will open a new window that may take a moment to load. In the new window, click the Application button on the navigation bar. At the next screen you will be shown the Housing and Meal Plan terms which are currently open. If you wish to stay on campus as an incoming freshman, select the term when you will be beginning your stay. Press Save and Continue to begin your application.

1. Application By clicking Save and Continue, your application will be created within our system. The steps listed on this page remind you to pay the Deposit and Application Fee to continue. If you have not paid, a notice will be present on the next page.

2. Personal & Contact Details Please confirm all of the information listed on this page is true. If there are any discrepancies, please contact the Office of the Registrar. Press Save and Continue to proceed to the next step.

3. Profile Questions Please answer the Profile Questions listed on this page. This aids our office in helping to place students in the best living situation possible. Even if you will be choosing your own roommate, we ask that you fill out these questions. After completing the questions, press Save and Continue to move to the next step.

4. Meal Plan Selection As a First Time Entering Freshmen, students are required to get a meal plan if they are staying on campus. This requirement has led us to put a meal plan selection step in the housing application itself, so students don t need to select a meal plan in the separate application. The currently selected meal plan will be displayed in the dropdown. For more information, please contact Dining Services.

5. Housing Contract In order to sign up for housing, you must read and agree to the contract. If you are under 18 years of age at the time you reach this step, you will be asked to have your parent or guardian sign and mail or fax the contract. Until the contract is received, you will be unable to continue your housing application. Please be aware that this does not affect your assignment priority, as assignments are made in Deposit Date order. Under 18 Contract Page

6. Hall Preferences As an Incoming Freshmen, you will be required to select three hall preferences. Please be sure to select both the Building and Room Type preferences for each option. We will use these preferences when making assignments.

7. Roommate Search Information If you wish to be included in the Roommate Search process, please fill out the information on this page and check the box at the top. If you do not check this box, no other students will be able to find you to add you to a roommate group. Filling out this information and joining a roommate group is completely optional.

8. Allocation Priority As students are being assigned by our staff, we want to try and give the most accurate placements possible based on your preferences. In many cases, the room location may be preferred over remaining with desired roommates, so we give all students the option to specify which they would prefer more.

9. Roommate Search From this screen a student can search for a known roommate by using the students name and student ID. To search for any students who answered about the same on the Profile Questions, use the Browse Matching Roommate option.

10. Confirm Completion of Application After you finish the Roommate Search, you will be asked to confirm your completion of the application. Please review the information on this page to ensure you are satisfied. If you agree to everything, press Save & Continue to confirm your completion. After you confirm, you may close the application.

Returning Students and Incoming Non-Freshmen Making your Payments If you wish to stay on-campus, please be sure to pay both your Housing Deposit and Housing Application Fee for the semester you will be staying. You can make this payment through your student ebill in MyCharleston under the Academic Services tab.

Then select Open my ebill account. Under the ebill System, not to be confused with the ebill tab, select the Deposits tab, as shown by the arrow below, and the semester you are applying for. Note: If you are applying for the entire Academic Year, you only need to pay the Fall Housing Deposit and Fee

Select the Housing Application Fee from the dropdown list.

Make your payment of the Housing Application Fee, and then repeat the steps to pay the Housing Deposit. Both the Housing Application Fee and Housing Deposit must be paid to sign up for on-campus housing. They are not required to sign up for a meal plan.

If you wish to stay on campus as an incoming freshman, select the term when you will be beginning your stay. Press Save and Continue to begin your application.

3. Profile Questions Please answer the Profile Questions listed on this page. This aids our office in helping to place students in the best living situation possible. Even if you will be choosing your own roommate, we ask that you fill out these questions. After completing the questions, press Save and Continue to move to the next step.

4. Housing Contract In order to sign up for housing, you must read and agree to the contract. If you are under 18 years of age at the time you reach this step, you will be asked to have your parent or guardian sign and mail or fax the contract. Until the contract is received, you will be unable to continue your housing application.

5. Roommate Search Information If you wish to be included in the Roommate Search process, please fill out the information on this page and check the box at the top. If you do not check this box, no other students will be able to find you to add you to a roommate group. Filling out this information and joining a roommate group is completely optional.

6. Roommate Groups On this page you have two choices. If you wish to be the Group Leader for a group, you may create your own roommate group. If you wish to join an existing group, you may enter that group s information to join. The Group Leader will place all members of a Roommate Group. As members join and leave the group, the Group Leader will be notified and need to verify the changes to the group. If you do not wish to join a Roommate Group, you may click Save and Continue to move to the next step.

7. Hall Preferences We ask that all Returning Students and Incoming Non-Freshman Students specify at least one hall preference. If you wish to be automatically assigned, you may close the application after pressing Save and Continue. Our office will notify you before you are automatically assigned to confirm your decision. Please select both a Location and a Room Type preference. Press Save & Continue after you have filled in your preferences.

8. Room Search Wizard If you wish to select your own room, you may do so through the Room Search Wizard. The Wizard will allow you to start at the building level and work all the way down to your individual bed space selection. You may use the Breadcrumb Navigation, highlighted in the image below, to move back along the path at any time.

8 or 9. Confirm Completion of Application After you reserve your bed, you will be asked to confirm your completion of the application. Please review the information on this page to ensure you are satisfied. If you wish to change your room selection, you may do so by clicking the Cancel Room step which has appeared in the left hand navigation. If you agree to everything, press Save & Continue to confirm your completion. After you confirm, you may close the application. The moment you reserve your bed, our system is updated to reflect this. 10. Selecting a Meal Plan As a Returning student or Incoming Non-freshmen, you may select your meal plan independently from your housing application. Please follow the steps for the Meal Plan selection below.

Meal Plan Selection For Returning students, Incoming Non-Freshmen, and Freshmen who will not be staying on campus, the option to select a meal plan is presented on the Term Selector page. Simply select the Meal Plan semester for the semester which you would like the meal plan to start, and follow the steps. If you apply for the Fall semester, a meal plan is created for the entire academic year.

1. Application On this page you will confirm that you would like to start the application. When you have finished reading, press Save and Continue to proceed to the next step.

2. Meal Plan Selection Please select your meal plan from the list provided. If you have any questions, please see the Dining Services website.

3. Confirm Completion of Application Please confirm your completion of the application and acknowledgement that our office may begin processing the information. This does not immediately bind you to the contract. After you confirm your completion, you may close the application.
