We are currently in the next major step change for Mayfair with the residential population set to increase by up to 25% over the next decade, with a 10% increase in the number of residential addresses in the area. This is not the gentrification of Mayfair - we invented that over 300 years ago. The original Grosvenor Estate in the 18th century was London s innermost sanctuary and it was a magnet for Dukes, Earls, Viscounts and Marquises - in fact of the original 277 houses, 117 had titled owners. Q: What makes Mayfair London s premier address? PW: Mayfair is the No. 1 location in the world for offices, luxury retail, cultural and leisure industries. Two thirds of all the world s premier luxury brands are within walking distance of Mayfair s 3,800 five star hotel rooms. The continued trend for offices being converted back to residential use has seen some of the finest restorations of Mayfair mansions.
