3 GENERAL INFORMATION medamigo PLATFORM 1 The medamigo (med=medicine, Amigo=friend) web platform is a website which allows the study staff to read the MEMS caps on a secured website wwwmedamigocom home page 2 Frequently asked questions and general support documents are available in the help tab upon login to the website * Study XXX If you are already participating in another study using the wwwmedamigocom website, you do not need to install the software again Moreover, you can use your current login for several studies You just need to have the additional study activated in your profile and select the appropriate study in the main menu upon login to the website (*) If you have any questions, send an to the dedicated AARDEX Group helpdesk: techsupport@aardexgroupcom Version 25 4 MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014

4 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE REQUIREMENTS FOR medamigo Software installation The software AARDEX reader setup must be installed on each computer which will be used to read the MEMS caps The installation must be done before the first subject is enrolled This Software is required to register and read a MEMS cap on the wwwmedamigocom website ; all MEMS caps which you received are, however, activated and fully functional! They do not need to be activated on the website The installation procedure is described in the following pages A personal login for the wwwmedamigocom website is required for the installation If you haven t received a login yet, you might download the software from the link provided on page 10 Personal login Each user should receive a personal login and password by to access the medamigo website You may have received it in your junk-mailbox If not received, please send an to the AARDEX Group helpdesk (address provided on page 2) Internet Connection The medamigo portal is a web-based application The software medamigo ReadMonitor setup component used to read the MEMS caps is only compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8 or higher Hardware Minimal requirements: Computer running Windows 32bits or 64bits with internet connection MEMS Reader (or other compatible devices) Free USB port Software Microsoft Windows 8 (recommended) Microsoft Windows 7 (recommended) Microsoft Windows Vista Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2 Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 or higher, only 32bits version supported Microsoft Internet Explorer desktop version only on Microsoft Windows 8 Non validated platforms Windows 2000, Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows XP Home Version 25 5 MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014

5 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Please note that the software is for an internet application; you will not find a shortcut on your desktop after the installation Depending on your network security policy, the involvement of the IT team may be required to proceed with this installation (administrator rights are required for the installation) 1 Connect the MEMS reader on a free USB port (Windows will automatically find the MEMS reader) 2 Log in to wwwmedamigocom 3 Upon login, click on the following item in the main menu: 4 Click on Installation Version 25 6 MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014

6 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 5 If the following screen appears, click on the yellow bar (right mouse button), and «Install ActiveX controls» 6 Click on «Install» Then, choose your language 7 Follow the installation procedure until you are asked to restart your computer Click on «yes» to restart your computer Version 25 7 MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014

7 CHECK WHETHER THE INSTALLATION WAS SUCCESSFUL 1 After having installed the software and restarted your computer, open the windows session with the end-users login, then open Internet Explorer and log in to wwwmedamigocom 2 Click on the following item in the main menu: 3 The first execution of the ActiveX may require a user s confirmation If you see again the Installation-page, check if a confirmation is displayed on the top of your Internet Explorer Click on the yellow bar and select Run ActiveX Control to allow the software s execution Depending on your Internet Explorer version, this yellow bar might appear in the bottom of the page 4 If necessary, confirm the security warning by clicking on Yes Version 25 8 MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014

8 CHECK WHETHER THE INSTALLATION WAS SUCCESSFUL 5 Put a MEMS cap on the MEMS reader (upside down) 5 Click on Options, then on Get Monitor Info 7 If you see the blue button «Read MEMS monitor», the installation was successful Moreover, the website displays the information about the MEMS cap (as shown below), the connection to the MEMS cap was thus successful and proves that the installation is completed XXXXX REMARK: If the following screen appears after a successful installation, you need to check your internet security settings and the configuration of your trusted sites Instructions are provided in the following pages Version 25 9 MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014

9 Troubleshooting: Internet Security Settings Check your internet security settings with your IT All functionalities of medamigo will work properly only if the following security parameters are turned on 1 Set the security level for the zone as «Medium high» 2 Set the following security settings as shown below Version MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014

10 Troubleshooting: Trusted Sites If you still have difficulties to access the Read MEMS monitor button, please check if the website is listed as a trusted site on your computer Go to «Internet options» Click on Trusted sites In the new window which pops up, enter the internetlinks wwwmedamigocom and *aardexgroupcom in the empty field Click on «add» and then on «Close» Version MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014

11 E ALTERNATIVE SOFTWARE INSTALLATION 1 If the installation from the website is not possible or if you haven t received a login yet, you might download the software from the following link: 2 Check if the software AARDEX Reader setup is installed in your control panel 3 Check if you are using Internet Explorer 8 or higher (only the 32bits version is supported) Install a shortcut for Internet Explorer 32 bit on your computer Once this is done, please install the Active X 32 bit application a On a Win7 64-bit computer, two versions of Internet Explorer are available: IE 32-bit (the default) and IE 64-bit (cannot be the default) Shortcuts to both versions should be listed in your Start menu, you just need to open IE 32-bit shortcut If you need to check the target of your shortcut, the executable for IE8 32-bit is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\internet Explorer\iexploreexe and the executable for IE8 64-bit is located here: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexploreexe If you cannot find a shortcut to IE 32-bit, please follow these steps to create a shortcut: 1 Right click on the desktop 2 Click on New, and then click on Shortcut 3 Once you click on Shortcut, you will get a box as Type the location of the item 4 Type the following command "C:\Program Files (x86)\internet Explorer\iexploreexe" 5 Click next and finish the process Then you can open a 32-bit Internet explorer 4 In Windows 8, start Internet Explorer from the desktop and not from the start screen (with the tiles) 5 Check in the 'Tools - Manage add-ons' menu, that the ActiveX control' is enabled If that's not the case, you can activate it by clicking on the 'enable' button Version MWV Switzerland Ltd, 2014
