The International relations office assists in the administration and planning of these programs. This course provides students with the necessary knowledge in mechanics, automechanics, computer science, signal processing and imaging enabling them to master the design of intelligent mechatronic systems while following a person-focused approach and combining technological development and biomedical research. The program is open to all students with a bachelor s degree in mechanics, electronics, physics or computer science. It offers undergraduate students the possibility of a first international experience in a French-speaking environment. The linguistic proximity will enable students to successfully integrate and follow courses. The reciprocal recognition of pedagogical practices of each institution, both of which are pioneers in education of computer science, assures that participants of this international course will find similar quality and complementary education in each institution.

Relying on universities of excellence in Europe, offering training programs in English, this international master degree enables students to become acquainted with mathematical institutions with a long-standing tradition, opening doors to a broad spectrum of relevant themes and interactions with other scientific domains. Thus, students will be able to select fundamental courses as well as probability, scientific arithmetic and discrete mathematics. This international master program is an opportunity to enrich their studies with an experience abroad or to specialize in one of these majors. computer science - master MIB - Biomedical imaging management Speciality : Imaging Asian Institute of Technology - Thaïlande ; National University of Singapore - Singapore Contact : [email protected] This international program aims to train science and medical students in the transverse field of imagery: acquisition and processing of images plus knowledge management. These technologies are applied it the fields of medical and biological imagery. Aspects related to algorithmic and a priori information modeling (delivered by the expertise of medical doctors and biologists) are particularly emphasized. The related aspects of biomedical image management are also broached. The program exchanges students in their second year of master (M2), who are enrolled in the IMA specialty course at UPMC with master students of the two partner universities. The partner universities have signed an agreement with UPMC, allowing the delivery of diplomas to students from each of the establishments. COMPUTER SCIENCE - erasmus mundus master DMKM Data Mining and knowledge management Contact : [email protected] The contemporary society is often described as a knowledge society, where wealth is more dependent on knowledge than natural resources. Extraction techniques and knowledge organization play a major role in all sectors. Organizations depend on it; the sciences also, to the point that we now speak of e-science. The Erasmus Mundus master, DMKM (Data Mining and Knowledge Management) prepares specialists in these matters. The consortium is composed of 6 partner universities from 4 European countries. The program lasts for 2 years and in at least two different countries from the 4 European participants of the master. It is open to all students, regardless of their country of origin, with a BSc in computer science or mathematics, and who have a good level of English (TOEFL 550 or equivalent). This program prepares the student for a career in research, covering a broad spectrum of computer science and includes research specific training in the framework of an international collaboration, partly carried out in Montreal and in Paris. The graduates of this program will be well qualified for joint doctorate programs offered by both establishments. It offers a course covering the issues in biology and medicine that generate new requirements at the interface between computer science and mathematics such as complex data analysis and detailed modeling tools. erasmus mundus doctorate IDS-Funmat Contact : [email protected] IDS-FunMat is an international doctoral program in Functional Materials and is funded by the Erasmus Mundus program of the European Commission. This doctorate program offers scholarships for PhD projects in Functional Material Science, jointly supervised between two European establishments (see the list of partners on the website). In most projects an industrial partner is involved. The doctorate students must spend at least 6 months in each university. The project starts in October for a period of 3 years. These doctoral scholarships are funded both by the European Union and UPMC.

By assuring a pedagogic course (in French) similar to the one offered at UPMC, the program enables students to easily experience international mobility, to discover new work methods, to extend the semester with an internship in research laboratories in Canada. The program also allows students to enhance their pedagogic course in a field of personal interest with regards to better prepare their upcoming master. EARTH SCIENCES - master BEVT - Biodiversity and environment tropical vegetation Speciality : Systematic, evolution, paleobiodiversity Université Libre de Bruxelles - Belgium; UCAD Dakar - Senegal; University of Yaoundé 1 - Camaroon; University of Dschang - Camaroon Contact : [email protected] The aim of this program is to enhance the scientific curiosity of students selected from the two partner universities (UPMC and Universidade de Lisboa), refining their critical thinking through a European exchange in the third year of their undergraduate course. These courses were created as an alternative to the classical teaching program. During the semester prior to departure, the students selected for the exchange will have the opportunity to follow language courses in Portuguese in Paris (as a beginner or intermediate level), which will prepare them for courses at the partner university. Nanoscience is now central to much research in fields as diverse as biology, chemistry and physics. The objective of this master program is to provide indepth knowledge in materials physics, production methods and spectroscopic analysis techniques in extreme miniaturization; tools to design new materials with basic electronic magnetic and optical proprieties. Due to international challenges linked to the preservation and the management of biodiversity, particularly in inter-tropical zones and keeping up with a strong request of the university establishments and research of the south, this master s degree program aims at forming experts (theoretical and practical) in the field of tropical plant biodiversity. This master concentrates in the domains of tropical botany, management of knowledge bases and collections, in study, management and conservation of ecosystems and tropical agro-systems, as well as in ethno-botany and the promotion of local traditional knowledge. chemistry - master JCEMolChem - molecular chemistry Université de Montréal - Canada ; Université d Ottawa - Canada Contact : [email protected] The JCEMoleChem program covers all aspects of molecular chemistry: organic and inorganic molecules and their synthesis, molecular materials and their properties, biomolecules and their modes of action. It offers students a semester abroad in their first or second year of study with lectures and a laboratory placement. The project is financed by the EU-Canada program Transatlantic Exchange Partnerships. CHemistry - master Molecular Chemistry and Mass Spectrometry (MolChemMS) Speciality : Molecular Chemistry University of Nis - Serbia Contact : [email protected] The program MolChemMS is based on topics related to molecular chemistry and the reactivity of organic and inorganic systems, from solution to gas phase, through the mass spectrometry. This program may lead to applications, ranging from environmental sciences to life sciences but within the context of chemistry. Along with courses (given in English in Serbia), students also complete an internship mobility in their first and second years. There will be the possibility of jointly supervised PhD projects between the universities of NIS and UPMC. EARTH SCIENCES - erasmus mundus master Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (EMBC) Contact : [email protected] The masters program is based on 3 themes: (1) Understanding the structure and function of marine biodiversity, (2) Toolbox for investigating marine biodiversity, (3) Conservation and Restoration of marine biodiversity. For the first year, the students select a university from group 1 (Universities of Ghent, Bremen and Algarve) where, during the first semester, they follow multidisciplinary courses. In the second year, the group 2 universities (Paris, Oviedo, Klaipèda) organize more specialized courses and are involved in research internships. The student mobility is an integral part of this program. EARTH SCIENCES - master Basinmaster Spécialité : Géosciences Vrije Universiteit - Amsterdam - Netherlands ; Technische Hochschule - Aachen - Germany ; Universitetet i Bergen - Norway Contact : [email protected] The objective of the Basinmaster is to train geologists to manage scientific or industrial projects in the field of sedimentary basins and their resources, particularly hydrocarbons (but also in water). The skills acquired during the degree program includes knowledge of processes that govern the evolution of basins and their resources, regional knowledge of basins worldwide and the ability to take a multidisciplinary, open and international approach.

5 ERASMUS MUNDUS DOCTORATE MARES - Doctoral Programme in Marine Ecosystem Health and Conservation Contact : [email protected] UPMC coordinates the doctoral program ERASMUS-MUNDUS for marine sciences: MARES. This program of three years focuses on 6 topics dealing with the threats to the marine ecosystems: environmental changes, biodiversity loss, biological invasions, noise pollution and habitat loss. It includes methods of conservation and ecosystem restoration. The MARES doctoral program defines a common foundation for all students, encouraging them to participate in European mobility. This program builds on the EMBC master (European Marine Biodiversity and Conservation). Innovation in cardiovascular pharmacology Speciality : Fundamental and clinical pharmacology New York university -États-Unis Contact : [email protected] This international program is focused on the pharmacology and the development of innovative therapeutic approaches for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It is built on two major academic centers (in Paris and New York, 12 research groups) who have been collaborating for the several years in this field and who have complementary educational programs. The program will provide the students a vision of modern pharmacology and development of biotherapies in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Life and Health Physiology and physiopathology Speciality : Physiology and physiopathology Universidad Complutense de Madrid - Espagne ; Universidad and the Institut Pasteur Uruguay Contact : [email protected] The international physiology and physiopathology program provides theoretical and general knowledge in normal physiology and human pathology. Technical and applied approaches will enable students to evaluate the relevance of animal models (fundamental/clinical research interface) and to carry out laboratory research (advanced techniques in molecular and cellular biology and imaging). The degree course also enables students to acquire cross-disciplinary skills such as the ability to research information in specialist literature, written and spoken scientific communication and team work. Biologie moléculaire des plantes - PMB Speciality : Biology and physiology of organisms (BPO): genomes to biological systems Universiteit Gent - Belgium Contact : [email protected] This international program carried out by two universities and a network of biotechnological firms aims to give an in-depth training on the most innovative aspects of the biology of plants (biology of systems, development, biology of seeds, physiology of stress, signaling). The ambitious objective of the program in its fundamental approach and its applications is to tackle the big questions raised by research. Student mobility is fundamentally important in this pedagogic project. This formation prepares students for a career in academic and private research or for research and development in the vegetal sector. Dual Masters in Brain and mind sciences Spécialité : neurosciences University College London École normale supérieure de Paris Contact : [email protected] This international masters program offers courses on aspects of cellular, molecular and cognitive functioning of the nervous system. The course allows students to follow different topics of neurosciences and in particular, to address the issues bordering between cellular and cognitive neuroscience. The first year (M1) will be completed at UCL and the second at UPMC and ENS. The high quality research and teaching in neurosciences at the three establishments allows students to explore various topics in this field and to carry out two research internships in each country.

UPMC students participating in this program will complete a stay in Chili and in the marine stations of UPMC at Roscoff and Banyuls, in order to follow the teaching units and potentially their research internship. This training prepares them for careers ranging from fundamental research to more applied professions in relation to aquaculture and biotechnology. MyoGrad, a unique initiative, provides top level doctoral training in the domain of fundamental and medical mycology. They participate in the selection and ensure the registration and supervision of students according to their main discipline. The themes of the program are multidisciplinary, focusing in particular on the use of modeling of complex systems to solve development problems and the management of resources and environments, specifically in southern countries.
