4 Defining the Framework for Electromobility in Europe Green emotion tests and demonstrates the interoperability of an electromobility system in selected demo regions Green emotion analyses the operability of electric cars under real life conditions and develops recommendations for the implementation of the mass market (to increase user acceptance and allow roaming) Green emotion recommends ways to an optimised grid and charging infrastructure Page 3
5 Defining the Framework for Electromobility in Europe Green emotion recommends selected standards for an interoperable electromobilty system (de facto standards for Europe) Green emotion adjusts the proposals and results in discussion with a broad stakeholder base Green emotion defines the IT architecture for a European marketplace including interfaces which allows competition in implementation Page 4
6 Urban electromobility concepts, policies and regulation Through the visions of the different demo regions and the diverse experiences in electromobility, concrete policies and strategies will be proposed to implement successful EV rollouts. An overall vision of regional policies in the demo regions Exhaustive list of hurdles and successes experienced by Green emotion city partners Conclusions and identification of key features in implementation of electromobility Main findings: The combination of measures and the involvement of the citizens increase the chance of success Coordination between local and regional institutions is necessary to develop successful strategies It is necessary to identify the agents and procedures related to the payments of energy bills. The installation, location and technology of Charging Points needs standardization for agreements between stakeholders. Page 5

9 Rally to Brussels conclusions Rally to Brussels proved that the Green emotion roaming solution really works. There s still a lot of work to be done for a Europe wide rollout which will make it quick and easy for everyone to roam with an EV. Page 8

11 GeM impacts on standardization Proposals related to standards developed within GeM: A new procedure to evaluate EVs range and consumption named SORDS (Standardized On-Road Driving Schedule); A new approach to use RFID cards, avoiding security issues; A standard focused on the management of charging stations, covering the communication between the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and the IT backend system(s). New standardized identifiers and business objects, in order to have a fixed and unique identification of the key components for EV charging; A basic interface protocol for the communication between agents for Power Demand Management purposes. ILLUMETRIC is a system conceived for the analysis and assessment of street lighting facilities It is based on a vehicle integrating a complete photometric laboratory, measuring the main photometric parameters in accordance with the current European standards (EN 13201) at the traffic speed Page 12
