The Family Law course focused on constitutional doctrine affecting families, entry into marriage, divorce, economic consequences of divorce, child placement and custody, reproductive technology, and the definition of family. The Domestic Violence Law course explored historical, sociological, and psychological aspects of domestic abuse and various legal remedies. AMERICAN UNIVERSITY, WASHINGTON COLLEGE OF LAW Washington, DC Summer 2006 Summer 2009 Director, Domestic Violence Clinic; Practitioner-in-Residence. Oversaw all aspects of the 14-credit Clinic. Significantly expanded the Clinic s immigration practice, community education, and student enrollment. Supervised third-year law students in representing clients in family law, domestic violence, and immigration cases. Developed curriculum and materials, taught intensive orientation, co-taught weekly seminar on lawyering theory and trial skills, and led weekly case rounds. Outside of the Clinic, taught Family Law (2008, 2009) and Domestic Violence Law (2007) and supervised independent studies.
