5 RULES The WTF Competition rules will be used. OFFICIAL CATEGORIES CUT-O FF SYST EM 1st round (Preliminary; 20 or more contestants): Two in accordance with drawing, the best 50% proceed to the next round. 2nd round (Semi-final; 9 to 19 contestants): Two in accordance with drawing, the best 8 athletes qualify for the final. 3rd round (Final; 1 to 8 contestants): Two in accordance with drawing. EXCEP TIONS: 1) In case contestants will be 8 or less in category: only finals. 2) In case contestants will be 20 or less in category: only semifinals and finals. 3) In case there is a tied score after the completion of the preliminary round and semi-final round, all contestants will go to finals. KUP-CATEGORIES CUT-O FF SYST EM: 1) Semifinal: participants are required to perform one (1) compulsory as shown in the list. The top five (5) athletes of each category (individual, team and pair) will be selected and advance to the final according to the average score of the two performances. 2) Final: The top five (5) athletes of each category are required to perform one (1) from the list. The performed in the final round is free of choice but the must be chosen from the dedicated list of each category. The ranking of the top three (3) athletes of each category will be decided by the score of the final performance.

Separate categories for female and male QUALIFICATI ONS OF COM PE TI TO RS Minimum belt grade for official categories is 1.dan / 1.poom. Competitors of Kup Categories must have belt grade of 8.kup to 1.kup. With exception that poom-belts may participate in Kids higher belt category. COM PE TI TI ON UNIFORM Contestants shall wear the WTF uniform according to their age category and gender. Competitors in KUP categories shall wear a white-collared WTF taekwondo uniform or all-white WTF uniform (exception: competitors with poom grades may also wear the WTF uniform). WTF GLOBAL ATHLE TE LICENC E (GAL) GAL licence will be mandatory in official categories. Onsite registration for the GAL is NOT POSSIBLE and must therefore be done in advance. A GAL check will be done at onsite registration before any athlete is allowed to compete. AW ARDS Places receive medals. The best nation receives a trophy.

8 POOMSAE REFEREES INT ERN ATIONAL POOMSAE R EFER EE Plese send your application by the end of June 2015 to Referee Director Tatu Iivanainen: [email protected] IR referee licenced by WTF are preferred. Compensation for the referee. - all international referees will have free accommodation at the Spa Hotel Caribia from Friday to Sunday - all international referees will have free transportation between Turku or Helsinki airport and hotel.turku airport is prefered, but also Helsinki airport can be used, if there is no other option. - all international referees will receive a reward of 75 EUR - all international referees will have free entrance to all events of the Taekwondo Festival organised parallel to the Finnish Open (from Friday to Sunday)

9 TRANSPORTATION TURK U AIRPORT Turku airport is located 8km from Spa Hotel Caribia. The organizing committee offers FREE transportation from/to Turku airport for all for all foreign participants. HELSI NKI AI RPORT Helsinki airport operates direct flights from major European cities as well as several Asian and American cities. The driving time from Helsinki airport to Turku is less than 2 hours. The driving time from Tampere airport to Turku is 2hours. 11 Freestyle Category Age Under 17, years old Athletes shall perform Free style based on taekwondo techniques with Over 17, 18 years old and over composition of music and choreography.. Pair Under 17, years old Music and choreography shall be the choice Pair Over 17, 18 years old and over of contestants. Performed techniques must Team 12+ years old be within the boundary of taekwondo. The definition of taekwondo techniques shall be determined by WTF Committee when contestants submit performance plan of free-style. 12 REGISTRATION Registration via TPSS:n: Deadline of the applications is JULY 31 th. Organizer is not obliged to accept forms sent after the deadline.
