2 Server Environment MD EMR Systems does not require that you provide dedicated servers for IMMSLink. MD EMR Systems supports the following technologies, regardless of your organization's size. Inform MD EMR Systems if you intend to use them. Virtual Machines (VM). MD EMR Systems supports virtual servers provided that the dedicated processor, memory, and hard drive resources comply with the minimum server requirements listed in this document. The database component must be located on a physical server. Storage Area Network (SAN) / Network Area Storage (NAS). SSL Accelerators. Remote SQL database on a SQL Server dedicated to MD EMR Systems applications. Remote SQL database on a SQL Server shared with non-md EMR Systems applications. SQL Server clustering. CAUTION 2 Do not configure any MD EMR Systems server as a Primary or Backup Domain Controller. MD EMR Systems requires local ASP user accounts. If you configure the server as a domain controller, these accounts are unavailable.

The only supported 64-bit operating system is Windows Server 2008 R2. **Express version can be used when the number of providers is greater than 26, but only when you are not indexing into the IMMSLink database. 3

4 SQL Server Recommendations Consider these recommendations as you select Microsoft SQL Server 2005/08 software: For many small sites implementing a single-server solution, Microsoft SQL Server 2005/08 Express with Advanced Services is an excellent choice. SQL Server 2005/08 Express is free, it supports up to 4-GB databases, and its Advanced Services package contains useful database management features. Consider the following before choosing SQL Server 2005/08 Express: Lacks support for enterprise features. Limited to one CPU. Buffer pool is limited to 1 GB. Databases size is limited to 4 GB (Server 2005) or 10 GB (Server 2008). If you already have a dedicated SQL Server 2005/08, consider using that server to host IMMSLink If you decide to use the remote SQL Server, MD EMR Systems requires SQL Server Authentication and an account with the db_owner role. For more information about Microsoft SQL Server options, consult Microsoft's Web site. Minimum Network Requirements These requirements apply to Secure Messaging and Patient Portal. Network Component Internet connection Internet bandwidth IP address Firewall FQDN SSL certificate Network connection 4 Details High-speed, always-on, reliable. 1 Mbps up/1 Mbps down (small sites). 5 Mbps up/2 Mbps down (medium/large sites). One available external static IP address. Provide a firewall with port 443 mapped to the Kryptiq Web server. For added security, redirect port 80 to port 443. A fully qualified domain name (FQDN) is required (for example, secure.yourorganization.org). Must be obtained from certificate authority. 100 Mbps, full duplex.

5 Minimum Workstation Requirements To access product features, use the following configurations. These requirements are unrelated to the hosting server requirements.
