1 LSI English for Teaching Course 2014 Aimed at speakers of other languages, this course equips students with the basic tools required to teach English as a Foreign Language and is also an excellent refresher and development course for established teachers of English. It is also suitable preparation for the Teaching Knowledge Test. Intermediate to advanced levels Intermediate to advanced levels Minimum class size: 10 Topics covered Language analysis Lesson planning Teaching the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking Classroom activities Using resources and materials Looking at learners needs Dealing with learners mistakes The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is produced by Cambridge ESOL to prepare teachers to teach English to speakers of other languages. It aims to increase teachers' confidence and enhance job prospects by developing the knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary, or adult learners, anywhere in the world. The TKT is not a teaching qualification. TKT modules Language and Background to Language Learning and Teaching Lesson Planning and Use of Resources for Language Teaching Managing the Teaching and Learning Process Cambridge requirements are that the TKT exam will not be held in any centre around the world if there are not 10 examination candidates booked for each exam. Please contact the LSI centre to confirm if it is possible for your student(s) to sit the TKT exam at the end of their course. Any student wishing to prepare for and take the TKT is strongly advised to have at least an intermediate level of English. Students will be required to keep a portfolio. 2 LSI Auckland 4 weeks of Standard Plus 5 or 10 Course 20 lessons per week in the mornings, and 1:1 lessons (one or two per day) for teaching theory and practice In the third week of the course, the student can teach a mixed internationality class of students after 15:30 from Monday to Friday.
