2 Application deadline All applications for the traineeship program must be submitted by October 17 th, The goal for this Traineeship Program is to offer successful candidates an opportunity to improve their skills as well as the experience of working in an international environment. Possible areas involved (OECD DIRECTORATE) Public Affairs and Communications Human Resources Finances Economics (Macroeconomics and Microeconomics) Tax Policy and Administration Development and Co-operation Environment Science, Technology and Industry Financial and Enterprise Affairs Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Education Communication Statistics Trade and Agriculture Public Governance and Territorial Development Corporate operative services, such as Budget and Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources among others. 3 Tasks Participate in the preparation of studies and documents in areas of work of the directorate concerned. Carry out documental research and review of existing material. Gather, organize and evaluate statistical data. Prepare notes and participate in the drafting of reports. Participate in the organization of meetings and seminars. Qualifications: Education, Experience, Communication and Languages Education Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time program. They must be enrolled in the fourth year of undergraduate studies, or in the process of studying a Master or PhD program. This Internship Program requires full-time enrollment at Tecnológico de Monterrey. For undergraduate students, this program is equivalent to 48-unit courses, which will be credited upon satisfactory completion of the program. It is also required that undergraduate candidates have at least 5 courses remaining before carrying out the program. Four courses will be credited throughout the internship program and the final course must be taken at Tecnológico de Monterrey upon returning to Mexico. Candidates with a scholarship will be taken into consideration individually. Key competencies International experience in research and analytical activities through studies, internships or professional activities will be an asset. Strong analytical skills demonstrated by academic success and professional achievements. GPA (Grade Point Average) of 85 Genuine interest in the work of OECD in promoting international co-operation. 4 Strong quantitative and computer skills. Knowledge of the software package Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and Power Point. Communication and OECD official languages Excellent communication skills and a high standard of professional competence. Knowledge of one of the two OECD official languages: English or French. Excellent skills in English (a minimum TOEFL score of 580, IBT TOEFL scrore of 90) or French (DELF level B1), including drafting skills and a good command or willingness to learn the other official language. Knowledge of other languages would be an additional advantage. Length and conditions of the traineeship The duration of the traineeship is maximum six months. It is a full time traineeship program (40h per week). A penalization will be given for students leaving the traineeship program before the official ending date. Required documents Students must enclose the following documents with the application form. All the document must be in ONE WORD document with a title: Postulante OCDE (name) Ex. POSTULANTE OCDE (MARINA LÓPEZ). Documents that are not in this format will not be considered for the selection. The WORD document should be sent to Gabriela Parada gabriela.parada@itesm.mx and to piehonores@servicios.itesm.mx A copy of an official document with global GPA TOEFL score (580 minimum), TOEFL IBT score (90 minimum) for English or DELF (level B1 minimum) for French. A copy of a valid passport (you will have to keep in mind that upon requesting the visa, your passport should still have a validity of at least six months after his/her stay). 5 As a previous step for writing the letter, it is recommended that the student explore the OECD website ( ) and decide in which areas she/he would like to carry out a traineeship. It is mandatory that the student argues why she/he wants to participate in a traineeship program at OECD or at the Permanent Delegation of Mexico at the OECD. IMPORTANT NOTICES INTERNATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE: All students accepted for the traineeship will have to buy an international health insurance. VISA: They will have to apply and pay for a visa for the duration of their stay. ACCOMODATION: The students must look for a place to live. The price of a typical student room is between 500 and 700 Euros a month. Once accepted in this program is advisable to begin looking for accommodation without delay. TRANSPORTATION: They will need to cover their transportation fees. A monthly card in Paris costs about Euros and a weekly card costs about (January 2014). For more information about transportation fares in France: MEALS: All students must assume their sustainment. They would have to consider at least 450 Euros per month.
