3 IONAS Project: 1.Main Features Last December 2005 the INTERACT Managing Authority approved the IONAS project extension: - Time: until March, 31 st Partnership: 2 new Partners - Objectives: 1 more Objective - Activities: 2 new Activities - Co-financing

5 IONAS Project: 3.The enlarged Partnership The IONAS Partnership is now composed by a total number of 26 Members. The new Partners are: The Port of Koper: from Observer to full Partner AICCRE (Italian Association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions): a new technical partner The IONAS Partnership therefore becomes: - more oriented on actors coming from the New Member Countries - a more complete partnership: since IONAS foresees the participation of a city and its port authority for each area, the involvement of the Port of Koper would make Koper become another integrated system in the IONAS project - a more technical partnership, through the involvement of AICCRE

8 IONAS Project: 4.The new Objective 4 In the framework of the New Cohesion Policy, IONAS aims at disseminating information about the Objectives of the New Programming Period to the largest possible audience interested in project management and in particular it will give relevance to the New Objective 3, European Territorial Cooperation, as well as the new Neighbourhood Partnership Instruments: IPA and ENPI

The new Action 4 The new Objective 4 foreseen by the IONAS Extension will be achieved through the implementation of 1 new Action, made of 2 main activities: Activity 1 The organisation of the International Conference European Territorial Cooperation : new scenarios and opportunities, to be held in Venice next June 16 th. Activity 2 The organisation of an online training course on European Project Management within the New Programming period.

10 IONAS Project: 5.The new Action 4 ACTIVITY 1 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE EUROPEAN TERRITORIAL COOPERATION : NEW SCENARIOS AND OPPORTUNITIES Venice, 16 th June 2006 Main Themes: New Objective 3 perspectives New Neighbourhood Policy Instruments: IPA and ENPI Audience: IONAS partners, AAP2020 partners, other local national and international stakeholders Speakers: European Institutions, National Authorities, Regional and Local authorities

11 IONAS Project: 5.The new Action 4 ACTIVITY 2 ONLINE TRAINING COURSE ON EUROPROJECT MANAGEMENT Activity 2 will be in charge of our new technical Partner - AICCRE. The main aim of the course on European Project Management is to increase awareness and the skills of the IONAS PPs in developing project proposals to be submitted in future INTERREG calls. The course will be carried out in e-learning and will last approximately two months. Presentation of the course: Venice, 17 th June 2006

Outputs & Results EXPECTED RESULTS: A deeper knowledge of the New Objective 3 Bringing awareness about the opportunities of the New Objective 3 to the participants coming from New Member States and Neighbouring Countries development of practical skills and operative knowledge on Euro Project Management OUTPUTS: Proceedings of the International Conference Ex ante and final evaluation documents of the Online training Course
