2 IBML Practical training; Compulsory, practical training totally 30 cr Divided in two parts, 15 cr + 15 cr Students apply their knowledge during their practical trainings Supervised practical training in business life

3 IBML - Practical training I (15 cr) The duration of 3 months (40 h / week) to make the students familiar with working life in business Can take place already after first year of studies Recommended to make the written training plan, as well After training period, you provide the following documents to the Academic Supervisor of SAMK: Written report in english SAMK official report form employment certificate, including time and duration of training

4 IBML - Practical training II (15 cr) The duration of 3 months (40 h / week) Supervised practical training; The written training plan to be provided in advance to SAMK Academic Supervisor After training plan has been approved Contract with the host company can be issued After training period, Written report in english SAMK official report form employment certificate, including time and duration of training

5 Practical training plan: To be done before training period Basic information about the host company, Time and duration of training period Job description as clearly as possible Your own learning objectives Think about your own degree programme (IBML) Put the learning objectives as questions Send your training plan to Liisa Ylituomi by .

6 Practical training report: (To be done after training period) 1) General information; company name, place, country, organisation, industry area, personnel structure, etc 2) Your tasks in the company 3) Application possibilities in the company, during your training period. How well you could use your earlier IBML studies in your job?

7 Practical training report (cont.): 4) Evaluation of your learning objectives; - What king of learning objectives you had? - Did you achieve your learning objectives? - In which tasks you succeeded, why? - Which tasks were more difficult, why? - What did you learn about in your own area tasks and in general in the company? - What kind of feedback you got from your supervisors in host company? - How did that feedback effect into your work?

8 Student responsibilities: 1) To find out the degree programme (IBML) requirements for practical training 2) To decide the time for practical training 3) To find the host company (-ies) 4) To set the targets and training plan 5) To contact and agree the training plan with SAMK 6) To pre-fulfil the documents and contracts 7) To execute the practical trainings 8) To create the final reports and deliver those to SAMK
