4 Introduction to ActivInspire 1.6 This course introduces the main features of ActivInspire and will guide participants through the basic skills required to create simple, interactive flipcharts. Participants in this course will learn to: Use the functions of the ActivPen Calibrate the ActivBoard Customize the interface Insert resources Manipulate objects Add and format text Use the Spotlight and Reveal Tools Learn some of the features added in v1.6 includes: A curriculum companion flipchart features hands-on practice activities and curriculum implementation examples. Participants will be able to create basic flipcharts using the main ActivInspire tools. Upon completion of course requirements, participants will receive a certificate of completion indicating attendance and professional development hours which can be used for the purpose of gaining CEUs where applicable. Participants in this course will also receive step-bystep, hands-on instruction and integrated examples, including, but not limited to: Basic Tools Creating interactive flipchart lessons Exploring the Resource Browser Accessing online resources from Promethean Planet and Promethean Academy course includes: A digital version of the Core Essentials manual. A curriculum companion flipchart featuring hands-on practice activities and curriculum implementation examples. A one-hour pedagogical and curriculum focused webinar is included with course purchase. 7 INSPIRE to Learn Developed by UCST in the United Kingdom, INSPIRE to Learn is a flexible, self-paced program that prepares K-12 teachers with the basic software skills to adequately integrate the variety of curriculum disciplines that ActivInspire offers into the classroom. INSPIRE to Learn is an online professional development course specifically designed for Promethean ActivInspire to assist teachers in learning how to utilize the software and develop a more engaging, interactive learning experience. includes: INSPIRE to LEARN contains over 130 curriculum flipcharts featuring over 200 videos in robust online training content featuring both technical and pedagogical skills for using ActivInspire in the classroom. The course includes discussions of Best Practices of Professional Development and working with adult learners. Training the Essentials is offered in both 3 or 4 day formats Interactive hands-on practice and interaction in redelivery methods Discussion of Best Practices of Professional Development Create and implement a Professional Development plan (4 day session only) NOTE: ActivInspire software is NOT taught in this class, as it is expected that participants already have excellent working knowledge of the software.
