18 Environmental Projects completed in 5 Years Enhance Existing Source Water Protection Efforts by Purchasing Buffer Property Around the Patuxent River Reservoirs (not less than $3.29 Million) Three properties purchased in 2009 and 2010 (21.36 acres in Burtonsville; acres in Highland; 4.47 acres in Scaggsville) Two conservation easements purchased in 2010 (15.75 acres in Burtonsville and acres in Brookeville) Approx. $3,400,000 spent Completed in December 2010 $81,000 spent on additional improvements to purchased land in 2011, including debris removal, tree planting SEP Completion Report approved by MDE and EPA. 18
19 Pump Stations Submit Plan/Schedule for Implementation of Facility Plan for Anacostia Pump Station. Anacostia Facility Plan has been approved by MDE and EPA. All Permit approvals were received November 30, The MDE and the EPA granted a schedule extension due to delays in receiving i permit approvals. A revised schedule was approved by MDE and EPA on October 19, Construction has started and is 24% complete. Substantial completion is on-schedule for August 22,
20 Pump Stations Submit Plan/Schedule for Implementation of Facility Plan for Broad Creek Pump Station. Broad Creek Facility Plan and scheduled has been approved by MDE and EPA. One-hundred percent design submittal was received on March 31, The initial Joint Permit Application was submitted on January 19, 2011, and resubmitted on April 13, Submitted request to MDE and EPA for extension with Force Majeure provisions on November 2, 2011, for specific deadlines in the plan and schedule because of WSSC s inability to secure permit approvals. The request for an extension is pending approval from the MDE and the EPA. Waiting for environmental permit approval to start construction & schedule dependent on permit approval 20
