1 REGULATIONS OF THE UNIVERSITY MASTER AT 1ST LEVEL IN FASHION AND LUXURY IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION - LUXURY Edition 1 Academic Year 2015/2016 Article 1 - Establishment of the Master Università Carlo Cattaneo - LIUC (hereafter referred to as the University ) has established the 1 st edition of the University Master at 1 st level in Fashion and Luxury Business Administration - LUXURY (hereafter referred to as the Master ). The Master was established in accordance with art. 28 of the Statute and the provisions of the Regulations for the University Master School. By a Rectoral Decree, there has been issued the Notice for admissions, which governs the procedure for admission to the Master Partnership The Master was realised by the University, on the basis of a special agreement, in collaboration with Istituto. Article 2 - Recipients, objectives and career opportunities The Master is aimed at graduates and aims to develop managerial skills across times in particular to the understanding of international markets of luxury and the financial management of stores, chains or companies in the sector. The skills acquired during the Master may open up access for the participants to positions such as Manager of the stores or sales in different geographic markets, Manager of new legal entities or joint ventures overseas, Corporate Controller, Consultant of luxury companies. Article 3 Requisites for admission 3.1 Titles of study required For admission onto the Master it is essential to hold a degree of 1st level or equivalent in one of the classes of degree in economics or in the area of art or design. Further requirements are specified in the Notice. pag. 1 di 11
2 3.2 Titles attained at non-italian universities For qualifications attained at a non-italian university, documentation is required as defined in the Notice Undergraduates Undergraduates also may enroll on the Master, provided they have passed all the examinations prescribed in their degree Master, presented the application of the degree and passed the required examinations for selection to the Master. Enrollment should be completed before the graduation session declared degree and before the preceding academic year of execution of the Master. In the case of a student not graduating before the time declared, their enrolment onto the Master shall be considered void and any payments shall be returned. It shall not be possible, however, to enroll as an attendee before enrollment onto a degree programme Prohibition of simultaneous enrollment National legislation does not permit simultaneous enrolment on other university Masters. The applicant should therefore declare that they are not in such a situation of incompatibility. Article 4 - Application for admission to selection The applicant should present the application for admission to the selection (Application Form) as specified in the Notice. Article 5 - Places available, activation and method of participation 5.1 Minimum and maximum number of places The number of eligible applications is established in the Notice Activation of the Master The University reserves the right not to activate the Master in the event of failure to reach the minimum number of participants provided for in the Notice, giving timely communication to the parties concerned no less than 15 days before the start date. In case of failure to activate the Master, the University will return any taxes collected, with pag. 2 di 11
3 the exception of other additional expenses, tangible and intangible, incurred by the applicant Late enrollments The Director of the Master may accept, if not exceeding the maximum number of expected participants provided for in the Notice and according to their sole judgment and appreciation, any additional enrollments of applicants, in compliance with the prescribed documentation and no later than the first examination session of the Master Participation of Attendees Participation as attendees only is also permitted. The number of attendees to the Master may not exceed 1/3 of the total participants enrolled at full title. Registration as a attendee may be permitted within the limits established, only to persons not in possession of the necessary titles of study for admission. In no case, will it be possible to convert the registration as a attendee to effective enrolment on the Master. Attendees may obtain a declaration of attendance to the Master but not take examinations or obtain credits Participation on individual modules or courses The Master may permitted persons to participate in individual modules, of which the Master is composed, provided they meet the requirements necessary for admission. Participants enrolled onto an individual module may take the necessary examinations and may obtain a declaration of examinations taken and credits earned relative to the module(s) attended. Article 6 Didactic organisation of the Master Location of the Master The lessons of the Master will be undertaken at Istituto, Milan, Via Pietro Verri 4 and LIUC, Castellanza, Corso Matteotti Language The lessons and examinations of the Master will be delivered in Italian and English. pag. 3 di 11
4 6.3 - Duration and Credits The Master will have a duration of 12 months and recognises 60 University Credits (CFUs). The hours provided for teachings in the classroom are Summary of the Study Plan The educational study is part-time. There is also provision for an internship and the realisation of a project to be developed under the supervision of an academic tutor. The topics off the teachings may be integrated with the Master, conferences and seminars on specialised arguments taught by experts in the various topics. The Study Plan, with specific regard to the topics of the teachings, the hours and the Scientific Disciplinary Sector is attached to the present regulations. 6.5 Calendar of the Lessons The detailed calendar of the lessons and examinations is available on the website of the Master. 6.6 Attendance Requirements Participants on the Master are required to attend lectures and participate in hands-on activities. To be admitted to the final examination, the participant should have attended lectures and other activities in the Study Plan for not less than 70%. Article 7 Taxes and contributions The amount to participate on the Master and the methods of payment are indicated in the Notice. Applicants should declare on the application for admission to acknowledge and accept art. 27 of the Students Regulations, approved by R.D. no. 1269/38, that refers to and applies to the Master, and that also declares applicants are not entitled, under any circumstances, to the return of any taxes, surcharges, payments and contributions paid. Article 8 - Direction, Didactic Coordination, and Scientific Steering Committee The Director of the Master, Catry Ostinelli, directs the Master and performs its activities in accordance with the Statute, the University Regulations, and this Regulation; the pag. 4 di 11
5 Director shall remain in charge for the entire duration of the Master and for the signing of the final diplomas. The Didactic Coordinator, Paolo Meroni, assists the Director in the operational activities. The Scientific Steering Committee, that provides for scientific orientation of the Master, on the planning of the content necessary for a profitable education of the participants, and that supervises the Master, is composed of the following members: Catry Ostinelli (Chairman), Paolo Meroni (), and Monica Giani (LIUC). Article 9 Charges of teachers The charges of the teachers are proposed by the Director of the Master to the Coordinating Committee of the Master School. The charges and remuneration are approved by the Executive Committee. Teachers, in accepting the charges, are required to perform them with the necessary diligence and professionalism, respecting in particular the calendar of the lessons. The teachers may not be substituted in the classroom and should immediately inform the Director of the Master in the case of any serious impediments. The Director, in turn, notifies the offices concerned and, in an emergency, may make limited changes to the teaching to be submitted for ratification at the next meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Master School. Article 10 - Suspension from the Master and movement to the next edition The enrolled participants on the Master may submit to the Director of the Master a request for suspension for a just cause resulting in the closure of their career. It may follow, in the case of further editions being enabled, that the participant completes the Master in the next possible first edition. This is done by presenting to the Director of the Master a second instance of enrollment with the recognition of credits already acquired and the payments already made. In addition, the participant is required to pay a secretariat tax (currently fixed at Euro , but may be subject to change in accordance with the regulations defined by the University), and the stamp duty (according to the current value and the integration of the amount in order to cover the costs of the new edition). In the case of suspension from the Master, not occurring for a just cause, the participant shall pay any balance of tax for the edition of the Master to which they were was originally enrolled. In the case of the participant deciding to re-enroll on a later edition of the Master, they shall be required to pay the full amount for the new edition pag. 5 di 11
6 and secretariat tax (currently fixed at Euro 250,00, but may be subject to change in accordance with the regulations defined by the University). The credits earned will be acknowledged. Instances validated by the Director of the Master will be considered by the Master School. If no following edition is activated, the participant will not be able to complete the Master. Article 11 Rules and regulations, ethical procedures, plagiarism Participants on the University Master are fully titled University students with all the obligations and rights of students on degree Masters, and Master degree Masters. Violations of the code of ethics are disciplined by the University community using the disciplinary procedures of the University. All the theses of the Master should be submitted to the Director of the Master or their delegate, and shall be subjected to anti-plagiarism software. Article 12 - Verification of learning and method of releasing the Master degree Participants following the Master are required to pass the examinations of each module course, to attend the Master as provided for in the Notice, and to pass a final examination consisting of the discussion of a written dissertation on one or more topics of the teachings or developed during the internship. Residual examinations may be recovered in special sessions. The examinations grades/scores are expressed numerically, the maximum being 30 (thirty). The Examination Commission is defined by the Director of the Master. The Judiciary Committee consists of five teachers on the Master. The final grade/score is expressed numerically, the maximum being 110 (one hundred and ten). An ordinary session is provided for the thesis and one for possible recovery in the event of serious and justified motives on the part of the participant. To participants who have passed the final examination there is awarded the diploma of University Master at 1 st Level in Fashion and Luxury in Business Administration - LUXURY. Article 13 - Rectoral Decree of enactment of the Regulations The Regulations of the Master are issued by a Rectoral decree. In relation to the teachings to enable its activation, the nomination of teachers is effectuated using the pag. 6 di 11
7 procedures provided in the Statute. This present decree shall be published in the Manifesto of Study.
