We welcome the concept of for-and-by-artists and this time we even take a step further by facilitating an auction in our salerooms. Christie s hopes to contribute to an, in our view, special viable cultural expression. Jop Ubbens, Chairman, Christie s Amsterdam Two weeks prior to Unfair Amsterdam 2014, we present an exclusive Unfair Amsterdam charity auction at Christie s Amsterdam. As a new platform for young and upcoming artists, Unfair Amsterdam constantly seeks for innovative collaborations with exhilarating partners, with whom we like to rethink the position of today s artist. Joining forces with the highly respected auction house gives us the chance to introduce a new generation of 44 artists to a network of engaged art lovers. Among our selection are well-established artists as well as upcoming talents. By bringing the two together we aim to develop a sustainable community of artists who can learn from one another by exchanging ideas and experience. Especially for the charity auction of Unfair Amsterdam the artists deviate from their usual prices, this makes it possible to start the bidding at the onetime rate of 350. The purchase of an artwork is in this way highly accessible for everyone who wants to support the group of young upcoming talents. The charity auction supports Unfair Amsterdam s art fair, held at the NDSMdocklands from the 18th until 21st of September. Location: Christie s, Cornelis Schuytstraat 57, Amsterdam House rules: - All Works are sold excluding VAT.
