April 16, 2015 A quorum being present and due notice having been published, the regular meeting of the Newburg Board of Education was called to order on Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the High School Library by Board President Jim Macormic. (6:37 p.m.) Present Board members: Jim Macormic, Diana Dean, Clay Austin, Glenn Suschanke, Matt Brookshire, Nita Mihlfeld and Carol Fletcher: Superintendent, John Westerman; Board Secretary, Mary Hinkel; H.S. Agenda Mr. Austin moved and Mr. Suschanke seconded to approve the #7 agenda as presented. Minutes Mrs. Dean moved and Mr. Suschanke seconded to approve the #8 minutes from March 2015 as presented. 2 April financial statements were reviewed. Warrants Mr. Austin moved and Mr. Suschanke seconded to approve #9 the bills as presented. Nays: None There were no Public Comments. Minutes of April 16, 2015 continued, page two B OPEN SESSION Discussion Items District Policy 0340, Organization, Philosophy and Goals of the Board of Education were presented. Mr. Mudd presented his written reports. Dr. Westerman gave a report on the water damage to the Old Gym floor. Two floor specialist came out and reviewed the damage to the floors. There is a 30 x 24 section that sustained the majority of the water damage. Claim will be processed thru M.U.S.I.C. Building Project Dr. Westerman reported that the lawyers have agreed that we can take bids for the floor and roof and deduct that amount from the money that is owed the contractor, pay the contractor and close the construction job.

3 Diane Martin Mr. Austin moved and Mr. Suschanke seconded to offer Diane Martin #10 a tenure contract for the school year. Tabra McCray Mr. Austin moved and Mr. Suschanke seconded to resend the tenure #11 contract to Tabra McCray, voted on in March, due to the fact that she is ineligible and offer her a probationary contract. Yeas: Austin, Suschanke, Macormic, Dean, Brookshire, Mihlfeld, Fletcher Closed Session Mrs. Mihlfeld moved and Mr. Brookshire seconded to go into #12 Closed Session in accordance with RSMo Legal (1), Personnel (3), (13) and Student discipline (6) at next months meeting if necessary. Doug Ward Mrs. Mihlfeld moved and Mr. Suschanke seconded to accept the #13 resignation of Doug Ward, effective at the end of his contractual obligation at the end of the school year. Brinkley, R. Brinkley and D. Weiss. Classified Mrs. Mihlfeld moved and Mr. Austin seconded to grant letters of Employees intent to S. Brinkley, R. Brinkley and D. Weiss for the #15 school year. Yeas: Mihlfeld, Austin, Macormic, Dean, Suschanke, Fletcher Abstain: Brookshire Extra Duty Mr. Austin moved and Mr. Suschanke seconded to approve #16 the extra duty/extended contract stipends as presented. Cody Martin Mr. Suschanke moved and Mrs. Fletcher seconded to approve #17 Cody Martin as Assistant Soccer Coach for the season. Substitute List Mr. Suschanke moved and Mrs. Fletcher seconded to approve, #18 upon completion of all their paperwork, the substitute teacher list as presented.
