19 Hall of Fame inductstors= Kc.io Klein, Grant Hunt.na Glenn Bourke (ool, o1 Gatley family) Hall of Fame 2012 The HM Awards saw two leading Hoteliers and a visionary Australian family inducted into the Hall of Fame. This year inducted were Koos Klein (Voyages Indigenous Tourism) and Grant Hunt (Anthology) - who were recognised for their careers in the Australasian hotel industry - along with the Oatley family, recognised for their significant contribution to the industry through the ongoing development of Hamilton Island. Judging process The judging results in the 2012 HM Awards were once again audited by Ernst&Young. For more information on the judging and nomination process this year, visit Speaking to HM following the HM Awards (Hamilton Island CEO Glenn Bourke accepted the Award on the night), Sandy Oatley said his family was honoured to be recognised with the Hall of Fame induction. "Our vision for Hamilton Island was, and continues to be. that it is an Island for everyone." he said. "We're blessed that it continues to be recognised as such. With the 10th anniversary of ownership of Hamilton Island coming up next year, it is very special to receive this award." ii ERNST &YOUNG Quality In Everything We Do Posturepedic Presentation partner message It was clear to all who attended the Black and White Ball that the HM Awards 2012 were the biggest and best to date. Celebrating 10 years of recognising our industry's stand out achievers, the team at HM have once again proven that our local accommodation industry is continuing to grow and thrive in the challenging climate that we see today. It is with great pride that we continued our partnership with the HM Awards for another year. The outstanding showcase event was this year attended by no fewer than 590 of our industry's most talented and respected individuals who represent premium properties across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. It was so pleasing to see so many of our friends and customers receive awards for their high standards in accommodation provision. All nominees and winners deserve special recognition for their outstanding achievements over the past year. As in previous years, the night was not only to celebrate accommodation excellence. Many properties generously contributed to a worthy cause by donating to the Sala Bai Hotel School in Cambodia. Apart from the award winners, Larry Emdur was again the star of the night with his witty charm and charisma followed closely by the world-class entertainment from the String Angels and a cameo performance by The Whitlams front man Tim Freedman. Sealy of Australia is extremely proud to be a wholly owned company dedicated to sourcing components and raw materials from local manufacturers. In a world of mass manufacture, we still hand craft our beds one at a time, with five manufacturing sites throughout Australia. To find out how the Sealy Commercial Team can improve your business, contact your Sealy State representative. Page 19 of 23

20 ahsw hospita iity Co-host message Once again, the HM Awards for proved to be the premier awards ceremony of the year. AHS has seen the event grow over the years and today it stands out as the 'must attend' award ceremony We are proud to be a cohost of the event and a long term supporter of the Australian hospitality industry. AHS would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the nominees and winners and acknowledge their critical role in the success of their businesses and the industry as a whole. In addition, we were very pleased to see so many of our hotel partners win top awards on the night. We were especially thrilled to see several staff that work within our partner hotels nominated for so many awards. This included Eric McDonald who won the Housekeeper of the Year Award and Harry Kumar, who was recognised as highly commended in the Rising Star category. This recognition of AHS's place in the industry is testament to the service we provide to our industry partners every day. As Australia's largest provider of labour services to the hospitality industry, we were also proud to be able to contribute to the success of many of the hotel winners through the high quality of services we provide. We know that it takes a team effort to win the top prizes and we were excited that so many of our partners were not only nominated for awards but were also major winners. Over the last 20 years, AHS has created successful partnerships with most of the hotel chains around Australia. We now operate in every state and territory, at more than 150 hotels, servicing more than 8 million hotel rooms each year. AHS has developed a range of operating systems and business models that translate into more efficient and productive departments for hotels. The results are both cost savings and high quality standards. Equally important, the outsourcing model that AHS has developed protects our hotel partners from many high risk elements in their business. AHS looks forward to continuing our mutually beneficial relationship with our industry partners and providing them with award winning services. Equally important, we are excited at the opportunity to continue our relationship with HM magazine and being a proud sponsor of the HM Awards. Service to the The 2012 HM Awards saw a special editor's award for Service to the Industry presented for the first time. This new award, which didn't appear in the program, recognised the contribution by an individual to the hotel industry in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. The person the HM team believed had contributed a significant amount over the last months was Tim Dearsley from Ibis Christchurch for his hard work and dedication to the hotel industry in the wake of the February 2011 earthquake. Dearsley is the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority's Hospitality Industry Liaison and Tourism Advisor, and has been one of the undisputed stars of Christchurch since the 2011 earthquake. He has led the clean-up and recovery work in the city for the hotel industry, including helping ensure over 1000 pieces of luggage have been returned to owners in 37 countries. 'n:: Almost $30,000 raised for Sala Bai Industry Graeme Ham collects the Award behalf Tim Dearsley Donators to Sala Bai at lthoci HI.1 Awards For the fifth time, the HM Awards helped raise much needed funds for the Sala Bai Hotel School in Siem Reap Cambodia. This year, almost $30,000 was pledged by some of the leading Hoteliers and suppliers in the hotel industry. Mawland and Sala Bars Suzanne Stanton, who conducted the charity drive at the HM Awards, said she was thrilled with the result. -The combined kindness will provide scholarships for 25 students to attend the school in 2013." she said. "You have made a huge difference to the lives of these students, so many. many thanks." Several sponsors of the HM Awards donated prizes for a card draw for those who pledged - and a special thanks goes to Sealy, HotelHome Australia, Nespresso, Maker's Mark and Courvoisier. - Page 20 of 23

As a leading educator in global Hospitality Management our mission is to attract and prepare the leaders of the hospitality industry of the future. The HM awards are the perfect platform to demonstrate to the general public the exciting, generous and rewarding industry that is hospitality. Guy Bentley, CEO of BMIHMS, who presented the New Zealand General Manager Award was proud to emphasise that "Ifs very fitting for BMIHMS to be involved in the celebration of what makes our industry unique, its people. We work very closely with companies to ensure we prepare our students to meet their needs. Industry leaders identify skills and labour issues as the major challenges facing the hotel sector and it's our role to not only prepare and train our students, but to also attract the brightest prospects to this evergrowing industry. Our Bachelor degrees and master degrees are designed with a main objective: to ensure that our students are industry ready and equipped to become the leaders of the future. They all aspire to be recipient of an HM Award one day". BMIHMS selected eleven students to participate and assist HM in the organisation of this event. This allowed our students to demonstrate to the key leaders of the hospitality industry the skills they've acquired during their studies, as well as being a perfect opportunity for them to network with 600 hotel industry leaders. Jillian Kam, a final year student, spoke about the experience. "It was inspiring to be part of this celebration and to see how hard work and excellence are being rewarded. I feel more motivated and a sense of pride to have chosen this career path," she said. As an event management student, Kam understands the importance of networking when looking to break into such a competitive field as event management. "Experience and new opportunities at this point of my education, when I am looking to secure a final Industry placement, are critical.., the next six months will shape my career." she said. BMIHMS brings both industry needs and academics to together to create that special blend of theory and practical skills that are craved by the hotel sector. 9 Page 21 of 23

22 . - I intrustsuper 4.- Co-host message It was yet another fantastic evening at the recent 2012 HM Awards gala dinner, held at the Sydney Town Hall. The black and white theme was lovely and the full room was a testament to both the popularity of the awards and the strong and supportive culture of the hotel and accommodation industry. As a major sponsor and long-term partner of HM, it is an event that Intrust Super is proud to support. Marking its tenth year, the Awards give the hotels and accommodation industry the opportunity to acknowledge its top people, properties and brands. The nominees are selected for delivering excellence across a range of categories, and most certainly the bar was set high this year. The contribution of these individuals and organisations has helped to ensure that Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific remain at the forefront of the hospitality industry across the world. We know that great service is a team effort and it was pleasing to see both businesses and individuals recognised for their achievements. At Intrust Super, we're also focused on being at the forefront of the hospitality industry by delivering the highest quality service to our members and employers. This focus has seen us rated a Platinum 'Best Value for Money' Industry Super Fund by SuperRatings, an independent ratings agency, for six consecutive years ( ). It was great to see the enthusiasm shared by everyone during the evening and as a side note, the meals and service provided on the night were surely worth a nomination in next year's Awards. As we all know, the hospitality and tourism industries remain challenged by both domestic and global b economic factors but the strong spirit and resilience of the industries is heartening to see. On behalf of the entire Intrust Super team, congratulations to all of the winners and nominees, and also thank HM for the opportunity to support such an outstanding eventwe look forward. doing it all again next year!
