Application date : September, 2009 Project Period: April, October, 15, 2012 Aim: The aim of this Project is to evaluate Records and Enterprise Content Management conditions in Turkish Universities in collaboration with InterPARES Project. 2

3 Analyze tools developed and 35 Universities where the case studies are going to carry out determined according to The Council of Higher education Analyze tools consist of four sections; First Section is the content analysis questionnaire (12 Questions) Second section is the analysis of conditions about electronic systems and integrated system models (8 Questions) Third Section is thechecklist about records management applications in universities (13 Questions) Fourth Section is the Internet, Social Networks and Organizational Information Security analysis for IT departments of Universities (20 Questions) 3

4 Some of the analysis carried out in 5 universities; These are Akdeniz University, Ege University, Dokuz Eylul University, Celal Bayar University Mersin University. 4

7 An Open Archive System Developed Called as ReMAP ( Records Management Platform) Dspace open access and archival system that is a open source system, developed by MIT used for developing ReMAP system. Windows XP Professional operating system was used for the installation 7

11 Postgre SQL server was used for database support. Compatibility for Turkish character charset has been carried out There is a problem for indexing and using Turkish words like ç,ğ,ü,ş,i,ö,ü UTF 8 settings inserted to Tomcat s server.xml file. 12 Browsing and Indexing capabilities are improved with batfiles. Scheduler jobs arranged for all batfiles. With these files,it it is possible to; having statistical information about logs for the system. making log analysis. full text indexing i of content. detailed indexing of authors, subject, date and title of materials. Metadata elements were determined. Most of them are DC elements. Turkish interface developed. 12
