4 WORKSHOP THEMES DAY 1 GLOBAL HEALTH CAPACITY AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT A. Capacity and infrastructure How to increase global health knowledge among faculty members/teachers? How to introduce global health in all faculties? What are the necessary next steps after the conference? B. Curriculum development What should be included in the curriculum? How can courses be developed to include both Swedish and global perspectives on health systems, social determinants of health etc? How can quality improvement be integrated on the agenda? C. Doctoral training in global health: building networks How do we find each other and relevant training activities during doctoral training in global health? How can we create and sustain links within Sweden and collaborating institutions globally for excellent doctoral training? D. Global health in your clinical career Knowledge of global health is an important part of your clinical work as health personnel. How could global health training be arranged during residency, speciality training and onwards? What possibilities are there today and in the future? DAY 2 - INNOVATIVE DIDACTICS E. Interprofessional learning and team work - A global public good Reflect on obstacles and opportunities from your perspective at your institution/organisation and think of what you see as main benefits of inter-professional learning and team work. If possible think of concrete examples! F. MOOCs and IT solutions for global health In the era of the Sustainable Development Goals, online tools are becoming increasingly more important in facilitating global learning, specifically regarding opportunities to network and finding solutions to global issues that cross many different fields, skills and competencies. In this workshop we will share experiences, on using online tools and IT solutions for global learning. G. Ethics of field studies in Sweden and abroad What are the ethical challenges that can arise during a global health field research project? What sort of training is needed to ensure that students understand these challenges, and that they are empowered to conduct all aspects of their research in an ethically sound manner? H. Specific challenges regarding values and health the case of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) Policy documents are often based on political ideology, mostly dominated by Western values on sexuality, reproduction and gender equity. What impact does this have in teaching or in clinical practice in a globalized society with students, teacher and patients with different culture and values?
