2 STRATEGIC PLAN OF 1. DISSEMINATION AND DEVELOPMENT To identify, develop and make available evaluated examples of good practice and policies. 2. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION To share experiences, inform and participate in public events (website, conferences, publications ) 3. PARTNERSHIPS AND INTERNATIONAL CONTACTS To foster cooperation and alliances between internal and external networks 4. WORKING GROUPS AND THEIR ACTIVITIES To identify priorities and to develop practice oriented knowledge and tools in areas of common interest 5. ORGANISATION AND INFRASTRUCTURES To support and lead the whole process and activities 2

3 ACTION PLAN May 2005 May 2006 Strategic objective 1: development and dissemination Task Force AB meetings: 1. Dublin: 1 day, presentation of the, 32 attendees 2. Courmayeur: 1and 1/2 days, activation of the WGs, 20 attendees 3. Palanga: 1 day, presentation of working papers on practice oriented knowledge and tools for each of the WG topics WGs have collected/shared best policies and practices and selected priorities relevant to their topic area Some partners of the former an project are continuing and expanding its implementation (Italy, Ireland, UK, Sweden, Spain, Denmark..) Regional/national Networks are adopting the MFH approach to develop initiatives at local level: Ireland has developed a National Cultural Diversity Initiative and participated in the development of a national study to identify the training needs of staff 3

In Courmayeur: members discussed and further developed the proposals of the WG leaders. WG leaders developed working papers containing operational tools for health organisations In Palanga: members are to discuss initial proposals for the development of migrant specific and cultural competency standards and guidance for healthcare organisations. 6

9 CREATIVE FUNDING HOW TO BECOME AN INTERNAL CLIENT OF THE HPH NETWORK? Acting as consultants in developing MFCC organisations and staff. Mentoring and advising new Health Promoting Hospitals Developing new projects or supporting organisations who want to develop projects Disseminating information and creating a resource library POSSIBLE ROLES 1. Advising/consultancy for service development 2. Localised/expert training for regional/national networks 3. Other roles? POSSIBLE INTERVENTIONS: Pilot training. Reggio-Emilia is interested in hosting the first pilot training next autumn-winter. Summer school. To be organised the day before the next International HPH conference in Vienna. 9
