6 Travel Insurance Study Abroad students are covered by the University of Warwick travel insurance policy. This is not health insurance. Insurance Surgeries run by the Insurance Services: see the website Many universities require additional Health insurance which can vary in cost. The USA and Australia the additional cover will be compulsory. Other countries will vary. Check the Study Abroad partnership links and talk to your coordinator The cost of the additional insurance is the responsibility of each student

13 COMPLIANCE There are a number of obligations that we have to meet as a University for study abroad students. It is essential that these requirements are met in order that Study Abroad is able to continue o For students awarded a Study Abroad placement there are a several forms which are required to make up your unique Study Abroad Folder For information if you take a look at the website. For next year (2015/2016): we will be merging the arrival form, and completion form into the placement plan. the mid term form will be replaced by an online placement confirmation form which will feed into our mid-year/interim report. Student Record Form: is being removed as the details can be obtained from your SITS records. It is your responsibility to make sure that your personal details are correct on my.warwick

14 Student Protocol: all students will complete a study abroad contract Placement Plan: this is a detailed plan of your placement, it depends on what you are doing but provides us with dates/duration Warwick information is pre-filled host information module plan/training plan It is split into 3 separate parts to form a complete plan of your whole placement Arrival Mid-term completion each part is vital to your unique folder to ensure that we can monitor the quality of your placement Transcript: for both study and work. Host partner universities are most likely to produce this automatically, but you may want to mention that it is required in case they don t. For work or LA s give your mentor a blank form for them to complete. Both these documents are useful for future employability

27 Higher education study or train abroad grant rate The Erasmus+ UK National Agency, a partnership between the British Council and Ecorys UK, is pleased to announce that 50 million euro in Erasmus+ grants will be available for to support UK higher education staff teaching and training and students who want to study or train in Europe. The UK National Agency has set the Erasmus+ study and train abroad grant rate for students taking account of what is expected to be a high level of demand from institutions (mainly universities) and students to study or train/work abroad,. The grant is a contribution to the costs of studying or training/working abroad, to help as many students as possible to take part in the scheme and receive Erasmus+ funding, and to make the best use of the funding available from the European Commission. The monthly grant, for study and training/working abroad, is 100 euro more than the minimum figure allowed by the European Commission.

32 Language is another skill to add to your CV, as well being important in understanding the culture of your host country and helping with dayto-day activities such as shopping. Although Erasmus+ students may be able to study abroad in English, you will have to take an assessment if you study or work abroad using a language that is not your native language. You may be entitled to receive online linguistic support for certain languages, such as German, Spanish, French, Italian and Dutch and may be able to get additional support, either before you go or at your host institution.
