10 Social Networks Analysis: Influence In the traditional media audience matters, authority matters and content goes one way (broadcasting paradigm). Is it the same in social media? Is content a driver of influence? What are the characteristics of content that help increase influence? Content is modeled in terms of: Sentiment (positive, negative, neutral) Use of multimedia as part of content (pictures or videos) Some results: negative tweets seem to be more retweeted and attract more attention than positive ones Posts with multimedia content have been found to be positively correlated with volumes and speed of retweeting Content specificity have a positive effect on influence, in terms of frequency, amplitude and persistence 10
