Dr. Windfield has extensive experience working with persons with visual disabilities. The major portion of her career was teaching children with visual impairments at Mississippi School for the Blind at Jackson, Mississippi. During her tenure at the School for the Blind, she developed the pre-vocational curriculum and an outstanding instrumental music program at the secondary grade level. Dr. Glenda Windfield used her expertise about vocational education to establish the Supported Employment Services program at Mississippi Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind. At this agency, she served as Coordinator of Supported Employment Services. Dr. Windfield was successful in placing severely handicapped individuals who were blind or visually impaired in the competitive job market in Jackson and Philadelphia, Mississippi. One of her clients was featured in a video about supported employment services provided to individuals who are multi-handicapped visually impaired. The video was produced by the Hellen Keller Foundation. Currently, Dr. Windfield serves as coordinator for the Center for Computers and Assistive Technology an assistant professor in the Department of Special Education and

5 Rehabilitation Services at Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in special education, assistive technology and rehabilitative counseling. The Center for Computers and Assistive Technology is a microcomputer laboratory designed to provide outreach services, support services and hands-on demonstration of assistive technology devices to educators, consumers and the business community.
