My current focus is primarily on finishing the research program Entrepreneurship and accounting. This program has at included includes 5 Phd students, and myself. The research-program has been founded by the foundation Economic Research in the western Sweden, and the Swedish Scientific Council, but also by University College of Halmstad, University College of Skövde and University College or Jönköping. I am now also involved q long process which has focused on accounting in the public sector.

5 5 I work also on an idea which is about to compare my experiences of accounting in entrepreneurship, accounting in the old public sector and accounting in the new public sector. Current research areas Role of accounting in entrepreneurship This research is based on reports published by 5 PhD-students in a research program, which focuses on the theme. The research carried out is primarily case study research, but also statistical approaches have been used. In order to find entrepreneurship in action the program has Swedish gazelles, i.e. fast growing small and medium-sized companies as the empirical foundation. The conclusions are both related to the role of accounting and the accounting artifacts per se in entrepreneurship. Role of accounting in the public sector This research is based on my earlier research in the area, but it will also use knowledge reported by other scholars. My own research includes historical studies, action research, case studies and international comparative research. The research also includes finishing of some working papers. Special emphasis will be put on the large transition of public sector accounting Accounting as a generator of action and politics. This research will mainly include an analysis in which knowledge generated in the areas Role of accounting in entrepreneurship and role of accounting in the public sector are contrasted and discussed. Concepts as context of accounting, role of accounting, accounting artifacts and time-period will be important analytical tools. Accounting research and large global crises. The rhetoric of accounting argues that the intended function of accounting is to decrease uncertainty in processes of decision-making. Consequently this function is challenged in times of large global crises. This research focuses on if and how accounting research has been influenced by global crises. First, crises are discussed based on the knowledge reported in economic history research, second large global crises are searched for, and the proper time period after the crises are defined in order to delimit the search for accounting research published close after the actual crises. Is there a need for action research? I have participated in two large action research studies, and I have therefore a very unique experience, which I want to share with other scholars by publishing an article in an appropriate journal about the need for more action research in accounting. 6. Supervision of Phd-students I supervise currently 8 licentiate and PhD students, and I have, as a head-supervisor, led 25 students to a licentiate degree and 21 to a doctor degree. Summary My experience from education is from all academic levels but since the end of the 1980 s it is definitively mostly from the graduate level. I have also a very rich

7 experience as a leader at university level as Academic Dean including Schools of Business, Education at Jönköping University of college, at Department level as Head of Department, School of Business Economics and Law at University of Gothenburg. I have also experience of leadership for education program, academic groups and research projects. I have the last years used my experience to support academic units and PhD-students, and I will the coming years try to twist my focus towards my own research about accounting in contexts of entrepreneurship and politics. 7
