4 1 Introduction Time Bank Online requires access to your local PC to read and write files. The ClickOnce application is used to provide the ability to read and write data. Your browser must have a supported ClickOnce application. 2 System Settings/Requirements Time Bank Online requires the following software: Microsoft.NET Framework 4.5 (required for the ClickOnce application). Note:.NET Framework 4.5 is not supported on Windows XP. SilverLight 5.1: The application will prompt you to load Silverlight the first time it is invoked, unless the security setup prevents it from loading. If not prompted, it will have to be loaded manually. If your system does not have this software, please contact your IT department to get it loaded. 3 Supported Browsers Internet Explorer 8+ Firefox May 5,

5 4 Browser Settings 4.1 Internet Explorer Trusted site The Time Bank Online web site, must be marked as a trusted site: May 5,

6 4.1.2 Security The Security level for trusted sites must be set to Medium-low: May 5,

7 4.1.3 Compatibility Mode With Internet Explorer 10 and above, the browser must be in compatibility mode to view crystal reports. To set compatibility mode, select: Tools -> Compatibility View Settings and add timebankonline.com to the Websites Allow pop-ups May 5,

8 4.2 Firefox Extension With Firefox, the FxClickOnce extension is needed. 1. Install the extension/add-on using the following link: a. Select Add to Firefox b. Once installed, FxClickOnce will show up under the Firefox Extensions: 2. Note, when running with Firefox, the FxClickOnce popup will always require permission to run. On each read/write from your local system, it is necessary to select ClickOnceInstall. Save File will result in errors. May 5,

9 4.2.2 Allow Pop-ups 1. Open Options window 2. Select Content tab. 3. Select Exceptions tab next to Block pop-up windows. 4. Enter 5 Troubleshooting 5.1 Time Bank hangs on the read/write operation Time Bank uses the ClickOnce application to read files from/write files to the local environment. When the read fails, it is typically due to the click once application not being able to run. Verify browser settings in sections 4.1 and 4.2 above. Verify pop-up blockers are turned off. Verify.Net Framework 4.5 is installed. If the above options do not resolve your issue, work with the client s IT department to determine what is blocking ClickOnce from running. TBSLClient.exe is the ClickOnce application which gets downloaded and run from the local environment during a read/write process. If the above options do not resolve your issue, work with the client s IT department to determine what is blocking the ClickOnce software (TBSLClient.exe) from running. This application gets downloaded and run from the local environment during a read/write process. Things to check: - Check event log - verify they can get to the service: - firewall - virus checker 5.2 Continual prompting to install Silverlight Internet Explorer If you experience continual prompts to install Silverlight in Time Bank, the additional configuration steps are required. 1. Close out of all browsers. 2. Uninstall Silverlight. If the uninstall does not fully uninstall Silverlight. MS has developed an msi to fix the issue by uninstalling Silverlight completely, and then doing a re-install Open Internet Explorer and log into Time Bank. 4. Install Silverlight when prompted. 10 5.3 Error communicating with host Verify the software did not time out. Log in and run again. Verify.Net Framework 4.5 is installed. For IE, verify the settings in sections and If the above options do not resolve your issue, work with the client s IT department to determine what is blocking the software from running. The ClickOnce application will not run, if the PC time is not within a minute or 2 of the hosted server time (time zone independent). In Time Bank Online you would notice the run time does not match the PC time. Update the PC time to reflect the correct actual time. If the above options do not resolve your issue, work with the client s IT department to determine what is blocking the ClickOnce software (TBSLClient.exe) from running. - Check event log - verify they can get to the service: - firewall - virus checker 5.4 Blank screen after logging in 1. Close Browser 2. Uninstall Microsoft Silverlight 3. Log into TB Online. You will be prompted to install Silverlight 5.5 The '' action(request.query.string[ wa ]) is unexpected The Full error message is: Integrated Design - Secure Login Web Site The action '' (Request.QueryString['wa']) is unexpected. Expected actions are: 'wsignin1.0' or 'wsignout1.0'. The resolution is to make sure you are logging in with the following link: Cannot continue. The application is improperly formatted. 11 5.7 Firefox Cannot Start Application When running with the Firefox, the FxClickOnce popup will always require permission to run. On each read/write from your local system, it is necessary to select ClickOnceInstall. Save File will result in the Cannot Start Application error. 5.8 Other Errors 1. Verify browser settings 2.
