1 Costume, Hair & Make-Up Notes Groove 2016 & Masterclass Everyone performing in our recital Groove 2016 and Masterclass needs to read through these notes for each of your classes. It is recommended that you print off the pages that pertain to you and keep them with your costumes. Classes are listed in chronological order by instructor (i.e.: Lindsay s Monday classes, Lindsay s Tuesday classes etc.). Please watch your for any costume, hair or make-up changes. If you have any questions, please speak to your instructor or contact Kelly at mccreakelly@outlook.com. Make-Up All make-up should be applied lightly as we would like it to look as natural as possible. We have kept the same colour palette for all of our classes as much as possible, in order to keep student expenses low. Girls in 4-6 year old classes and all boys are not to wear any make-up. All other girls should not wear more make-up than what is listed for each class. Please check the following pages to see what make-up is needed for your class before you buy anything. Most local drug stores and larger grocery stores should carry the brands we have listed. Shoppers Drug Mart in Comox and Courtenay have said they will order in anything you need (please give 2 weeks notice) and they will give you a 10% discount if you tell them you dance with Pantuso. Hair Please review hair notes for each class. There is information about how to make a ballet bun at in the student info section and on the bulletin boards at the Studio. Please note that you will need hairspray/gel, bobby pins and a hairnet to make a successful bun. Christy will give bun demos in most beginner ballet classes closer to the date. All hair elastics, clips, bobby pins etc. must match your hair colour (unless you have been given a hair accessory as part of your costume). Below are examples of hairstyles described in the notes. Hair half Ballet bun Low sleek High, sleek Two braids Pulled back ponytail ponytail Costumes Please review costume notes for each class. All costumes should be wrinkle-free and clean. Please check to see if there are any garment hang-tags or merchandise stickers that need to be removed. Tights are provided for all classes that need them. Please note that ballet tights (ballet pink) are a different colour than jazz/tap/contemporary tights (dark tan). Please make sure that you wear them for the correct classes. Please take care of your tights, but if you do get a run or hole, let Kelly know as soon as possible. Please do not wear socks unless the pants from your costume cover them completely. Match sock colour to pants. You are responsible for taking care of your costume. We do not have replacements for most costumes. We recommend that you label all of your costumes and make sure that all accessories are stored securely for each. Please do not eat in your costume (or if you have to, cover it with a large t-shirt or dressing gown).
