More exact pronunciation is stressed and more advanced writing skills are developed leading to a more spontaneous, yet, conscious control of the language. Language design and its integration with German culture are studied in more depth. Bible memory verses are included in every chapter. Daily conversation and classroom dramas provide for spiritual application

2 GENERAL COURSE OBJECTIVES The teacher will: 1. Teach a higher level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and understanding basic German, expressed in present, past, imperfect, and future tenses. 2. Enhance students appreciation for other cultures and traditions. 3. Require the memorization of assigned scripture, witnessing plans, and expanded terminology of scriptures. 4. Provide opportunity for the student to use spontaneous interactive communication. 5. Help the student to recognize a minimum of words and expression in listening and reading. 6. Encourage the student to recognize the value of daily discipline in mastering a foreign language. 7. Teach the student to write short paragraphs on given topics. 8. Teach the student to make comparisons in grammatical content between the English language and the German language. 9. Teach the main elements of grammar for oral and written communication. 10. Teach use of the German pronunciation system effectively in speaking. 11. Motivate the student to share his/her testimony in German. 12. Ask questions prompting creative response and conversation. 13. Provide opportunities to be understood by a native speaker. 14. Demonstrate an ability to read, comprehend, and translate short selections in reading.
