2 1 Abstract This document contains information on new features and changes that are introduced with the latest software version. In addition, it includes descriptions for a correct update process. 3 5 Update Procedure The software update to version can be downloaded from the corresponding product pages on The update is performed over the network using the PService3 software which is also available for download on You only need to download and install PService3 once. Updating your IP device is only possible via TCP/IP. Therefore, your IP device must be available in your local area network (LAN) in order for data to be transferred successfully. Performing Update 1. Download the required zip files. 2. Unzip the downloaded zip files into a local directory on your hard disk (using WinZip or a similar program). 3. Run PService3. 4. Follow the update instructions in the corresponding PService3 documentation. Leave the Update code field blank. 5. Once all required information has been entered, click OK. The update process is then started. NOTICE: Do not disconnect the device from the power supply during the update process (up to 5 minutes). The device will automatically reboot after the update process is completed. 3

4 6 New Features and Changes Dallmeier Live Video ActiveX control version Description With this update, the version of the Dallmeier Live Video ActiveX control is available for downloading directly from the device ( Service > Download ). Always install the latest version of the Dallmeier Live Video ActiveX control on your client PC after the connection to the device is established in order to obtain the optimal system performance. Download URL for Dallmeier Live Video ActiveX control Description With this update, the URL for downloading the Dallmeier Live Video ActiveX control via Internet has been changed on the device. Once a connection to the WebConfig user interface of the device is established using the Microsoft Internet Explorer and the client PC has an active Internet connection, the currently published Dallmeier Live Video ActiveX control can be automatically downloaded from the Internet (if it is not already installed on the client PC). If no Internet connection is available on the client PC, the Dallmeier Live Video ActiveX control that is provided with this update can be directly downloaded from the device ( Service > Download ) and installed on the client PC. Always install the latest version of the Dallmeier Live Video ActiveX control on your client PC after the connection to the device is established in order to obtain the optimal system performance. 5 Watchdog for shutdown Description With the current version, the internal monitoring function (Watchdog) has been optimized to ensure that all running processes are properly terminated before a system shutdown or a system reboot. In previous versions, a system update, system restart or system shutdown may have caused data inconsistencies under certain circumstances. This issue has been resolved with the current version.
