Are your packages geared towards a 1 st birthday party? A. The activities included within our packages are targeted for ages However our packages may certainly be used for younger children. Q. What are your birthday party packages? A. Basic Party $250 Includes: 2 Hours in The Pavilion 20 Wristbands for admission to party (children and adults) 2-hours of unlimited rides on the Philadelphia Park Liberty Carousel Tickets for one round of Philly themed Mini Golf Paper Goods 12 display multi-color balloons Display Carousel Horse Party Facilitator Additional Guests: $8/each (includes party admission, carousel and mini golf) * Food option add on: See SquareBurger Menu B. 2 Q. Can I mix and match the package offerings? A. All package offerings are final. Substitutions are not permitted. Food, Beverage, and Entertainment Q. How many slices per person does the Pizza Package allow? A. The pizza package allows two regular size slices per person. Q. What are your food options for the Basic Party? A. For your Basic Party, please order from the following menu. Please note that SquareBurger s operating hours fluctuate seasonally. Can I bring my own food and drink? A. Due to the City of Philadelphia and Fairmount Park Restrictions, guests may not bring food or drink into the Pavilion. Any food and drink that is brought to the premises will be stored for pick up after the event in the Franklin Square office. Q. Can I bring my own birthday cake and bottled water? A. The exceptions! You may certainly bring your own birthday cake or bottled water. Franklin Square does not provide a cake knife, lighter, or candles. Q. Does Franklin Square or SquareBurger provide a refrigerator, equipment, or extra ice to keep the food and beverage hot or cold? A. Franklin Square and SquareBurger do not provide a refrigerator, equipment, or extra ice to maintain the temperature of the food and beverage. Please plan the delivery times accordingly!

3 Q. Can Franklin Square accommodate my dietary restrictions? A. Absolutely, please be sure to mention any dietary restrictions during your scheduled Final Confirmation call. Q. Can I mix and match the menu offerings? A. All food package offerings are final. Substitutions are not permitted. Q. Can I make vendor and catering arrangements (ie. Bring in a caricature artist, bring in a moon bounce, face painter, or balloon artist?) A. Only caterers & entertainment approved by HPI are permitted on site. Your vendor s insurance must match or exceed our insurance requirements and the additional insured s must be named. The guest must send the Vendor Instruction Form and the Insurance Requirements Packet to all prospective vendors prior to booking. Proof of Insurance must be submitted to HPI for approval at least 21 days prior to event. It is the guest s responsibility to book entertainment once the vendor has been authorized. Upon HPI s authorization, please sign and return the Vendor List Form to events@historicphiladelphia.org. Due to an exclusive contract with About Face 2, face painter and balloon artistry service must be provided through About Face 2. Please visit their website at for all of their services! On the day of your event, if entertainment that has not been approved and is not listed on the Vendor List arrives, they will be asked to leave the premises. Q. Instead of a hired source, can a friend or family member provide an activity for free such as face painting or caricature artistry? A. All service based entertainment, regardless of nature or amount paid, must be provided through a professional source. The professional source must be approved by HPI prior to booking and must follow the instructions listed above. Due to an exclusive contract with About Face 2, face painter and balloon artistry service must be provided through About Face 2. Please visit their website at for all of their services! Q. Can I bring a crafting activity, game, piñata, or music? A. The entertainment exception! You may bring your own crafting activities, games, piñatas, and music, as long as the activities abide by the following Franklin Square policies and do not disrupt the timeline of the event. Crafts may not involve glitter, glue, stickers, or paint. All piñatas must be used outdoors. All music must be family friendly, and please remember to bring an I-POD and I-POD speakers! Q. Can I bring sparklers? A. Sparklers are considered a fire hazard and are not permitted within Franklin Square.

4 Q. What are your photography policies? A. Amateur photography for private home use is allowed in all areas of Franklin Square. Photography, videotaping, recording of any kind, broadcast or transmission for commercial purposes or performed by professional photographers or other contracted providers require an additional permit and fees. HPI reserves the right to use photographs of events held in Franklin Square for use on our web sites and social media for viewing in our photo galleries and welcome pages. Photographs are meant for viewing only; and at no time may they or any content found on HPI web sites be reproduced or used in any form without written consent from HPI. Event Sponsors may request their child s photos be removed from HPI s website by contacting HPI. Booking and Planning Your Birthday Child s Party Q. How and when do I book my child s birthday at Franklin Square? A. To book your party, your direct contact information and your complete availability to be reached via phone to events@historicphiladelphia.org. Please plan 2-3 months in advance. Due to a high volume of inquiries and an ever-changing schedule, requests are fulfilled by phone appointments only. Please allow up to 2 weeks for a phone call appointment. Q. I have already booked and I would like to switch the date of my party. A. We completely understand that life happens! You may absolutely switch the date of your party. Please let us know well in advance due to limited availability. Q. What if it rains on the day of my party? A. The Pavilion is enclosed and climate controlled, and all parties are rain or shine. Franklin Square attractions will only close in the case of severe weather and guests may use the tickets through valid date indicated on the tickets. You may reschedule your event more than 48 hours in advance. Q. How do I give my final guest count, my final food order, and make final payment? A. During your initial booking, your Events Coordinator will schedule a Final Confirmation call for the Monday two weeks before your party date. A final guest count, a final food order, and final payment must be given at this time. Failure to make payment at this time may result in the cancellation of the party. Q. Can I change my details after my Final Confirmation call? A. All details are final after your phone call and further changes are at the discretion of Franklin Square.

5 Q. Does the guest count include children and parents? A. Yes! We encourage parents to celebrate with their children. Every party should have at least a 6:1 ratio of children to adults. Q. I have an extra guest on the day of the party. Is this permitted? A. The party parent should plan for the maximum amount of guests due to limited food and supplies. Parents will be charged per person for additional guests on the day of your party. Extra guests are not guaranteed food or beverage. Q. What time should I arrive on the day of my party? A. All parties start and end promptly to ensure the success of your birthday. The Birthday Parent should arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled Pavilion time. Setup before the scheduled time is not permitted. Additionally, guests are not permitted in the Pavilion during the scheduled clean up time. Q. I would like more time than two hours! Can I extend the timing of my party? A. All package offerings are final and an extension of time for the party package is not permitted. If you would like more time for your event, please ask about our site rental option. Q. Does the Pavilion have air conditioning? A. Yes! The Pavilion is enclosed and climate controlled. Q. How many tables are in the Pavilion? A. There are 8 x 60 round adult tables that are permanent within the space. Q. Can I decorate the Pavilion? A. Decorations are certainly welcome however not necessary. The Pavilion is predecorated, providing less stress and worries on the day of your party! Q. How much time to I have to decorate? A. The family has 30 minutes to decorate before the scheduled Pavilion time, so please decorate accordingly!

6 Q. Where can I decorate? A. Decorations may only be placed on the tables, chairs, and the overhanging cross bars in the Pavilion. Decorations may not adhere to the walls or other surfaces. Q. Can I bring balloons? A. Yes, please feel free to bring your own balloons! However, the room is already decorated with 12 multi-colored balloons. Q. Can I bring candles as decorations? A. Candles that have an open flame are a hazard and are not permitted in Franklin Square, with the exception of birthday candles for the cake. Q. Can we take home the 12 multi-colored balloons? A. Due to the worldwide helium shortage and in an effort to conserve, the balloons may not be removed from the room. Q. Where is there parking? A. Parking is available between 9 th and Race Street at the EZ Park. Please visit for a coupon! Or your guests may bring the ticket supplied by EZ Park to your party attendant on the day of the party and have it stamped for a discount. Q. Can I park on the sidewalks that are next to the Pavilion? A. Unfortunately, you may not park on the grounds of Franklin Square under the rules of the Philadelphia Parking Authority. All cars that are illegally parked will be ticketed and towed. However, you may drop your décor off in the 5 minute loading zone that is located next to the playground. Q. Do I have to clean up the Pavilion? A. Our Party Attendant will assist in the overall clean-up of your party. The Party Attendant will assist in bussing your tables, taking out your trash, and packing all of your decorations to ensure that your day is stress free! Q. What role will the Party Attendant play at the event? A. Your Party Attendant will assist in the setup, the clean up, the facilitation, the punctuality and the overall success of your event. The Party Attendant main role is to ensure that your day is stress free!
