2 Diverse learning environments The education in Luovi is carried out in accordance with our strategy in several inspiring, safe and accessible locations. The locations provide places for learning on the job and preparatory training for work life for our students. The learning methods and environments come together to form an entity which supports the learning process. A proper learning environment sets challenges, offers assistance and guidance as well as helps the student to progress on their own path of learning.

3 Diverse learning environments Luovi has several learning environments in which the students are able to orientate themselves to their job by undertaking authentic working tasks. Some of the learning environments also function as service providers for external customers.

4 Enterprise-type learning environments Datanurkka The Data corner, Oulu An ICT helpdesk customer service unit operated by students. Students work at Datanurkka in all the modules of one of the three years of study. Kahvila Kamu Café Kamu, Oulu A café located in Oulu Partnership centre, where students get accustomed through practical work to various skills such as serving customers and working the cash register.

5 Enterprise-type learning environments Linna Puoti Linna Boutique This shop, located in the Prisma Supermarket of Joensuu, offers items made of wood, metal and textiles as well as childrens furniture. These products are handmade by prisoners in Eastern Finland as well as Luovi students. Pikku Putiikki The Little Boutique A decor and gift shop for the students aiming at a VQ in Business and Administration degree. The students are in charge of sales, decoration, customer service, advertising campaigns as well as improving the business.

7 Restaurants Luovi uses various restaurants as learning environments, where the students can learn their trade both in the dining hall as well as the kitchen. Restaurant Artteli, Oulu Restaurant Upseerikerho, Oulu Restaurant Mortteli, Oulu Restaurant Kasura, Liperi Restaurant Resiina, Muhos Restaurant Kasari, Alavus Restaurant Kaarna, Liminka

Laundry services, Oulun Keskuspesula Oy Marking and organizing textiles, using the industrial pressing machine, communication skills, teamwork skills

10 Learning environments that provide services Storage Pick-up and inspection of goods, stock record keeping, warehousing, deliveries, using the vans, trucks and forklifts Co-operation in organizing events Making sound and video recordings; execution of lighting in annual projects or events such as the Military MILJazz, Oulu Music Video Festival and Oulu Pop History. The documentation of events within the college such as Studia Generalia; producing the online magazine Navikka.

11 Internal services within Luovi Financial administration services Arranging, scanning and pre-recording of purchase invoices, assistance with the general ledger, review and filing of the accounting records of projects, screening and archiving material IT management services Support tasks, maintenance of the screens, printers and audiovisual devices, ensuring the proper use of IT equipment, creating and updating instructions of use, duties relating to the labeling, recycling and inventory of IT equipment Estate management, buildings and courtyards Maintenance and cleaning of outdoor and indoor areas, buildings and platforms, landscaping, snow and ice removal, maintenance of small machinery, estate management for clients
