As the sole university of art AND music in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW), we offer a wide range of subjects in the fields of music, theatre, dance, design and academic studies. Teaching and learning take place at Folkwang internationally. The over 400 Folkwang teaching staff come from all over the world just as your future fellow students. We at Folkwang attach particular importance to exchange and diversity. Folkwang offers you some 40 study courses and programmes, including the internationally recognised Bachelor and Master degree and Artist diploma. The university also offers a variety of doctoral and postdoctoral programmes, as well as various further education qualifications. Since 1927, the fundamental idea of our training has been interdisciplinary work and the fusion of the arts. For example, both the exchange amongst the various disciplines and stage/live experience is from the outset an integral component of your study course. Each Folkwang study course clearly highlights not only innovative art forms and concepts but also the constant reference to the professional and everyday world of artists, academic professionals, pedagogues and designers. Each aptitude examination (or verification of artistic aptitude) consists of several parts: The requirements for the aptitude test vary according to the study course concerned. Therefore student applicants have to provide evidence of the necessary language skills for their study course as an admissions requirement. 7 Scholarships and grants International Office The International Office of the Folkwang University of the Arts is the international service area of the Academic Administration. This is the place where worldwide exchanges are coordinated and students receive advice both on their path abroad and their path to Folkwang. More information on advice and offers is available at: Semester fees The semester fees consist of a social contribution and the semester ticket fees (VRR & NRW-travel ticket) and are due at the time of enrolment. Information on amount and breakdown of fees can be found here: From the 2011/2012 winter semester, student contributions (study fees) are no longer payable at the Folkwang University of the Arts. There are various possibilities for students to receive support, not only for German students but also for foreign students including their stay at Folkwang.
