1 Annual Update for National Qualifications This is a report of activity relating to National Qualifications in 2015/16 National Units, Awards, National Certificates, National Progression Awards and Professional Development Awards. Information in this report is also contained in the Catalogue of National Qualifications. The Catalogue is updated regularly throughout the year and contains the most up-to-date information about available NQ provision. Further information about new and revised National Units, National Courses and National Qualification Group Awards can be found on the NQ section on SQA's website. The NQ Unit Search allows you to search for National Units by keyword, title or code. The NQ tification of changes to Unit Specifications and Frameworks is also updated regularly. 2 Section 1: National Courses New and Revised Updated versions of Group Award Specifications/Course and Unit specifications Latest versions of Group Award Specifications/Course and Unit specifications and updates by Qualifications teams are published on the National Qualifications subject pages on SQA s website. Approval This report includes information about the approval implications for new and revised National Courses, Group Awards and Units. Automatic Approval means that the qualifications are automatically approved for schools and colleges. Any other centres wishing to offer the new qualifications that are not already approved for the full range of auto approved products must complete the Qualification Form. Please contact our Business Development and Customer Support Team on , or [email protected], for help to make an approval application. Where a qualification is replacing an existing qualification and there are no significant changes affecting a centre s ability to deliver it, approval extended means that, where centres were approved to offer the existing qualification, approval has been extended to them for the new one. For schools and colleges, this applies to qualifications not on the automatically approved list. For other centres, this applies in any case where a qualification is replacing an existing qualification and there are no significant changes affecting a centre s ability to deliver it. When approval for a qualification is devolvable to centres, this refers to centres who have gained devolved authority for approval. Colleges with devolved authority seeking approval for devolved, non-automatically approved qualifications must complete a Devolved Authority Qualification Approval Application Form and submit this to [email protected]. Approval applications associated with Examination Diet 2017 or where other certificates are expected in August 2017 should be submitted no later than Friday 23 September

The majority of these Units have been available for more than five years, but have had no entries for two or more years.
