2 Aena and its subsidiaries Aena Airports diversified its activities through participation in the capital of various companies. Aena Airports has a majority ownership in companies Aena Aeropuertos Centros Logísticos, S.A. and Aena Aeropuertos Internacional, S.A. Although Aena investees are outside the scope of this sustainability report, the following are different activities undertaken by them, as the responsible companies of the Aena group that take advantage from the know how and the inter-companies synergies generated. Aena Internacional Good Practices in SCR in Companies that Aena Internacional has a Stockholding The following are the different activities of the companies where Aena Internacional has a stockholding, as responsible companies. GRUPO DE AEROPUERTOS DEL PACÍFICO (MEXICO) GAP has a policy of socially responsible company and implements it with the support to projects dedicated to the development of society in the states where it locates airports. GAP is aware of the commitment to quality and environment and demonstrates it by the maintenance of certifications: Quality Maintenance of the ISO 9000 certificates Environment Maintenance of Environmental Compliance certifications granted by PROFEPA being still in the process of implementing an Environmental Management System based on ISO Accessibility GAP, knowing its responsibility to be inclusive, fully shares the concern of the Federal Government in supporting people with disabilities and special needs users and therefore has in its airports the certification that complies with appropriate levels of accessibility. 144
3 Social Responsible Company SRC is a recognition given annually by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi) that certifies the company as an organization committed voluntarily and publicly with a socially responsible management as part of their culture and business strategy. Getting certified as Super enterprises 2009 awarded by the magazine Expansión evaluating the best companies to work in Mexico and the results of the study are audited by an external company. COLOMBIA Sociedad Aeroportuaria de la Costa (SACSA) Strategic planning is geared to work on sustainable development and creating a culture of social responsibility that integrates business strategy. Its activities are referenced in respect of the environment, responsibility towards society, its employees, its shareholders, suppliers and the services we offer to our customers. In furtherance of this, and as a sign of commitment to the region, SACSA has managed and owned and maintained a comprehensive management system, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in the provision of airport services (ISO 9001:2000), with health and welfare of its workers (OHSAS 18001:2007) and the prevention of pollution (ISO 14001:2004). It is the only airport in Colombia certificated in the 3 standards and the first Colombian company that achieves 3 certifications simultaneously. The work areas in CSR determined by SACSA are: Economics Development of a business management program that includes social responsibility practices as part of an integrated strategy that includes optimized resources, generation of transparency and ethics in all their actions. Internal organization SACSA has developed a project to facilitate and improve the conciliation of family/personal and professional life for its employees, it has been implemented policies framed within the proposed family friendly company project, included in a management model where policies and benefits came from a structured and participatory approach based on the conciliation needs of its employees, bringing together a variety of benefits to which all SACSA employees can access. Aimed to achieve an appropriate balance between work and personal life of its workers. S5 pillars are developed to make our objectives: Stability in employment Time and space flexibility, Benefits to the family, 145
4 Development of work and professional skills, and Equal opportunities Airport surrounds to the fact that their activities promote the environment and minimize the operational risk of air navigation. The SACSA certification proves that we are a Family Friendly Company, demonstrates the strong commitment to our people and their families. It meets the basic principles that requires the Mas Family Foundation rule, our sole objective is to manage an integrated model where daily practice of conciliation policies. Social Since 2000 and as a support to the neighboring community of San Francisco, creates the program SAN FRANCISCO... OUR PASSION. This project has improved the quality and rates of schooling of thousands of children, which can generate social net in the surrounding vulnerable populations. Social activities are executed through foundations such as: Actuar, Mamonal Foundation, Proboquilla Foundation and Dawn Foundation. Environmental Highlights the generation and coordination of environmental fronts, and the aircraft control to mitigate the environmental impact and to ensure safety to all customers of the air terminal. Aeropuertos de la Costa (ACSA) In the development of this plan, it had been carried out the following activities in the surrounding communities: Carrying out environmental education campaigns for infants and young children. Roundtable discussions with communities about environmental and social issues. Children visit to the airport facilities. Delivery of gifts at Christmas time for infants. Health Brigades with support from the Colombian Air Force, which includes medical care and medicament delivery. Cleaning Days of street, parks, fields, mountain areas, and generally waste dump places. Management with municipal health institutions to perform fumigation and eradication days of insect and vectors eradication. Tree Planting Day. Environment performance ACSA is an organization committed to the environment, so their actions are aimed to the preservation of natural resources, making rational use of them and doing a correct environmental management in the organization processes, so they do not generate significant environmental impacts. Social performance ACSA is developing a Social Management Plan, which is designed as a tool to aware airport community, passengers and visitors on the proper management and rational use of natural resources, as well as raises community awareness of the nineteen (19) neighborhoods of the The most important environmental measures that have been developed are: Water Resource Management Reuse of waste water from household-type, treated at the Airport plant, to irrigate their gardens and greenery outside. 146

Hazardous wastes: segregation and disposal of hazardous waste through different specialized companies, and record waste generators and hazardous wastes before the environmental authority. Landscaping: Maintenance of the internal plant nursery at the Airport, where supplies for the landscape development of the air terminal are obtained. Landscaping: Maintenance of gardens and green areas outside the airport. Landscaping: Ornamentation of the Airport access highway Boulevard, opposite to its facilities. Legal Requirements Compliance with regulations and administrative acts uttered by the local and national environmental authorities. It began the new strategic planning with the assistance of SENA in order to assess the current state of Aerocali and define the right tools for continuous improvement, talks were held with all staff in order to seek feedback. 9. It was managed to continue with certification in ISO 9001 Quality Standard, which shows the commitment of staff to provide good service both internally and externally and to seek continuous improvement. 10. Environmental Performance Aerocali made airport staff awareness on issues such as: Proper handling of solid waste Source separation of solid waste Disposal and storage of oils and lubricants Hazardous waste management Importance of recycling Techniques for source separation of solid waste. It has established a comprehensive plan for solid waste management of the airport, which is divided as follows: Regular wastes These wastes are transported daily by the cleaning company to a collection area with other waste produced in the passenger terminal. International flights wastes By national legislation of the Colombian Ministry of Health, all solid waste from aircraft entering Colombian territory should be incinerated. Biological wastes These wastes were collected and incinerated. Aerocali S.A. recorded in a detailed diary the waste by kilos, this information was reported to the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development. Area for wastewater from aircrafts Aerocali proceeded to design and construct the new area for wastewater from aircraft. Wastewater treatment plant The airport has a wastewater treatment plant based on an activated sludge system; the plant treats all the water produced at the passenger and cargo terminals in the airport. Drinking water treatment plant The airport gets its water through two deep wells; the water extracted is treated in a water treatment plant. 148
7 Monthly characterization of the water is produced by DBO Ingeniería company in this plant, which certifies the water quality and the compliance with national regulations. this transport and with public institutions that promote international trade and organizations representing businessmen (Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, etc.). Monthly certification, by the secretary of health in the municipality of Palmira, of the water quality supplied at the airport. Noise It was hired, according to the environmental management plan and ratified by the airport s environmental license issued by the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development, the study and modeling of noise at the airport with the company Mediciones Ambientales, this final study resulted in the diagnosis of noise levels in different areas of passenger and cargo terminals, and airfield; additionally, it generated the map or noise footprint of the airport, this is according to the operations, routes and type of aircraft used in the airport. Centros Logísticos Aeroportuarios, S.A. (Clasa) Centros Logísticos Aeroportuarios, S.A. (Clasa) is a subsidiary 100% owned by Aena, whose primary mission is the promotion, construction, management and operation of infrastructure and facilities for air cargo airports in the network of this Public Enterprise. Currently, its main activity is located in the Air Cargo Center of Madrid-Barajas Airport, Barcelona-El Prat and Valencia. PREOCUPACIÓN POR EL DESARROLLO PROFESIONAL DE LOS TRABAJADORES Y SU CUALIFICACIÓN Economic scope The Clasa proposed objectives were part of a general policy of spending rationalization, revenue enhancement, optimizing the use of resources and prioritizing actions that could lead to improved real quality and the quality perceived by all groups of interest and, most importantly, by customers. Operational responsibility on the economic sustainability lies in the Economic- Financial Management and Contracting. The result for the year 2010 was positive, with a profit before tax of 6,794,843. The net turnover is 24,169,523, 96% of net income; rental income corresponding to the buildings themselves (75%) and royalty income of urbanized land (25%). The various services revenues have been obtained due to the construction management of clients and by the provision of technical assistance an account, in total, a 4% of the total income. The amount of equity is 45 million Euros in The Company does not own shares. The gross investment of the Company amounts to 123 million Euros. Clasa financial profitability (return of resources invested by the sole shareholder, Aena) was 11% in Clasa facilitates the creation of wealth, providing the most suited services to their specific requirements, to all companies in the air cargo sector, to associations, to handling operators, to airlines, to courier companies, to forwarders, to logistics providers, to Custom agents, to the services of the Public Administration, etc. Air Cargo Centre in Madrid: at December 31st, 2010, the General Services Building is rented on 66.45% of the area, with 113 clients, occupying 128 offices, including Public Services of the State Tax Agency, Functional Areas of Health and Agriculture, and Soivre. The commercial floor area is m 2 being rented 81.43%. The five current customers hold, together, m 2. The Air Cargo Centre has 37 office buildings with clients, with a total built area of 145,000 m
9 Air Cargo Center Barcelona: at December 31st, 2010, the General Services Building is rented on a 66.82% of its area, with a total of 97 clients. The office space is 3,070 m 2, distributed in 39 offices. The commercial floor area is m 2 being rented 83.81%. The two current customers together hold m 2. Air Cargo Center has 6 clients of warehouses with offices, with a total built area of 50,000 m 2. System that defines an annual program of environmental objectives and indicators for the same. The overall objective in environment, in 2010, was: To achieve an adequate environmental management that involves an active policy of sustainability, efficiency in consumption and optimization in the treatment of waste generated. Air Cargo Center of Valencia: At December 31st, 2010, the General Services Building is rented on a 64.62% of its surface, with a total of 13 customers. Air Cargo Center offers customers PIF ships and seven offices, with a total built area of 17,000 m 2. Environmental dimension ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: It will be minimized the impact on the environment by protecting the water system and water quality, preventing emissions and air pollution, noise protection and proper management of waste. SUSTAINABILITY: The conservation of environment will be contributed through environmental recovery, protection of soil and vegetation and landscape integration. This will contribute to sustainability, understood as a contribution to the current development without compromising the development ability of future generations, through the following actions: Reducing energy demand. Improve performance efficiency of plant, machinery and equipment. Improved efficiency in the use and reuse of natural resources. Use materials that respect the environment, both in the building process and in maintenance. Promoting the use of renewable energy Operational responsibility for environmental issues is divided between the Directorate of Corporate Responsibility and the General Secretariat and the Delegations for the air cargo centers where the company operates. For the Policy development it has been established the Integrated Management To achieve this overall objective, Clasa had the following specific objectives: Reduce power consumption. Reduce water consumption. Improve the management of waste generated (hazardous and nonhazardous). This year we have run almost 100% of the actions and investments planned, aimed to reduce consumption. Las actuaciones llevadas a cabo por las delegaciones, en cada centro de carga aérea, han sido las siguientes: Delegation of Madrid: In the General Services Building, the beginning of the procedures for installing natural gas boilers for heating system, drafting the Project and Work Management for the renovation of the lighting system of public areas, works to install low energy lighting in hallways, providing customers with recycling bins for collection of nonhazardous waste, carry out improvement works in the ECOPOINTS location and carrying out an awareness campaign on the need to reduce electricity consumption and water among users. Delegation of Barcelona: The General Services Building, implementation and monitoring of a study of energy efficiency and environmental quality, installation and commissioning light detectors in light vehicles parking and in the building basement, carrying a study for the possible installation of pressure drives in heat pumps, fluorescent uninstall in the atrium, removal of 151
10 grilles in the curtain wall airflow in facades to improve airflow and insulation, installation of revolving doors at entrances, reducing infiltration through doors, sealing the exterior stone of the facade, conducting an awareness campaign on the need to reduce electricity and water consumption between users and development of a triple exhibition of art made with recycled materials from atrium. Additionally, within the implementation plan for energy efficiency and environmental quality, it also includes the hiring of technical assistance for the supply and installation of electrical equipment that will reduce monthly power contract, as well as adapting to the current regulations the common services facilities. Delegation of Valencia: In the General Services Building has been expanded waste management service, including electrical and electronic equipment, it has incorporated in toilets signals to encourage and educate clients on the need of rational use of water and an awareness campaign on the need to reduce electricity and water consumption among users was conducted.
