7 Batteries and Battery Charger Set Up Synthes nonsterile batteries and advanced charging technology optimize intraoperative battery capacity, maximize battery lifespan, significantly decrease memory effect, and shorten turnaround time. One Universal Synthes Battery Charger for all Synthes battery-driven systems simplifies the charging process. Simple aseptic technique preserves the sterile field when assembling the battery pack. 1 Ensure the lid of the Battery Casing ( ) is fully open. 2 Position the Battery Insertion Shield ( ) securely on top of the battery casing. The battery insertion shield helps guide the battery into the battery casing and prevents contamination of the sterile casing by the nonsterile battery a Circulating b Circulating Circulating 3 Insert the Battery ( ) into the battery casing (3a) and press down to ensure it is seated fully (3b). 4 Remove the battery insertion shield. 5 Close the lid of the battery casing, taking care to not contact the battery.
