Home to some of the world s best hydraulic designers and fitters, Dando's fully equipped manufacturing facility in the South of England employs sophisticated resource allocation and inventory management to ensure standards are high and lead times are short for the customer. Using the very latest SolidWorks modelling software Dando engineers and designers are able to bring innovative products to the market faster while making cost savings for its customers. The same software and techniques are also used to improve existing products as part of an open-ended development program. 7 MINERAL EXPLORATION & PROSPECTING Dando Mintec rigs can be equipped for reverse circulation, deep wireline coring and RAB drilling. MINTEC 4000 With a pullback of 4,000kgf, this hydraulic topdrive rig is designed to be ultra-compact, lightweight, easily transportable and capable of a wide range of drilling techniques for mineral exploration. MULTITEC 4000 & 9000 A range of compact multipurpose rigs ideal for mineral exploration and many other applications. See pages 9 & 10 for more information. MINTEC 9000 A compact mineral exploration drilling rig with 10,000 kgf pullback and available with a range of mounting options including track, truck and trailer. CORETEC 9000 Designed specifically for deep wireline core drilling, the Coretec 9000 has the ability to collect quality core samples while operating on a small footprint. The machine combines a long stroke of 4 metres with a high speed chuck drive head and foot clamp arrangement enabling the rig to fill a three metre core barrel in one pass. Pullback capacity is 10,000kgf MINTEC 12.8 A medium sized mineral exploration drilling rig with a pullback capacity of 12,800 kgf. Track or truck mounted, the Mintec 12.8 is also available in a heavy duty version with a pullback of 16,000 kgf or a compact version with smaller tracks and no compressor. MINTEC 18 Dando's largest and most powerful exploration rig with a pullback capacity of 18,000kgf and, like the rest of the Mintec range, is capable of deep wireline coring, reverse circulation and rotary air blast drilling. SONIC SDC375 Developed in collaboration with Sonic Drill Corporation, this light, compact track mounted sonic rig is able to rapidly collect samples of up to 8 inches in areas of restricted space. It is also capable of fitting inside a standard shipping container. DANDO TERRIER Small, compact and mounted on a crawler unit, the incredibly versatile Dando Terrier is ideal for performing a wide range of percussion and rotary drilling techniques. See page 11 for more information. ANGLE DRILLING TERRIER The Dando Terrier is also available fitted with a hydraulic mast dump for angle drilling. See page 11 for more information. DANDO MULE Operated by remote control, the Dando Mule track carrier is designed for carrying loads of up to 5 tonnes across the roughest terrain in a safe and effective manner. 6

9 GEOTECHNICAL AND CIVIL ENGINEERING As Britain s longest established and best known drilling rig brand, Dando have been building rigs for the civil engineering and construction sectors for decades. DANDO 1500, 2500 & 4000 With increased pullback capacities, Dando's new range of shell and auger drilling rigs all come equipped with Hatz soundproof engines and are capable of conducting U4 and SPT. Other features include: powerful clutch; full guarding; electric mast raising system; and suitable for towing. DANDO 1500 TRACK MOUNTED Mounted on a purpose built crawler chassis with rubber tracks, the Dando 1500 LHR is a fully featured shell and auger rig with the manoeuvrability of a mini-crawler. Ideal for working indoors where headroom is limited, the D1500 s height-adjustable mast can be set at four different positions allowing the operator to adapt the rig to the job in hand. GEOTEC 4000 With a pullback of 4,000kgf, this hydraulic topdrive rig is designed to be ultra-compact, lightweight, easily transportable and capable of a wide range of drilling techniques for site investigation. IBEX SLOPE RIG Featuring a self-levelling working platform, the track mounted Dando Ibex allows safe and secure dynamic sampling, SPT and rotary drilling on previously inaccessible slopes of up to 55 degrees. GEOTEC 9000 A 10,000kgf capacity hydraulic top-drive geotechnical rig capable of a wide range of sampling and testing techniques including SPT using the attached swing in SPT hammer. The machine is available with high speed and high torque rotary head options for auger drilling and/ or coring. 10 DANDO MULTITEC 4000 With a pullback of 4000kgf, the Multitec 4000 is an ultra-compact, versatile rig ideal for a wide range of applications including water, mineral, geotechnical and GHP drilling. Able to operate in areas of difficult access, the rig can be customised to meet the exact requirements of the customer. It comes with a wide range of engine options, from hp, rubber or steel tracks, multiple mast lengths, winches, rotary heads and more. Capable of augering, conventional drilling and wireline core sampling, the machine can also come with the optional Dando 3D (Dando Duplex Drive) System, designed for taking soft ground undisturbed samples while advancing the casing at the same time. The hammer is fitted with the standard 63.5kg drop weight which allows for SPT. The Multitec 4000 also adheres to UK and European safety regulations with features including: full guarding incorporating a drop in rotation torque when open; remote-control tracking; and an optional silent engine. 9

11 DANDO MULTITEC 9000 A truly multipurpose drilling rig incorporating a pullback capacity of 10,000 kgf within a lightweight and compact structure. Designed for use in water well, mineral exploration, geotechnical investigation and geothermal (GHP) drilling projects, the Multitec 9000 is capable of performing various drilling techniques including RC (Reverse Circulation), RAB (Rotary Air Blast), conventional mud, auger, diamond wireline coring, SPT, GHP (Geothermal Heat Pump) drilling and more. MK 1000 twin piston motor arrangement MK 500 single gear motor arrangement The relationship which we have with our clients and our understanding of their needs has allowed our design team to create both models in exact accordance to the industry s highest expectations. This, combined with traditional British ideals of heavy duty, hard-wearing components explains why the MK 500 and MK 1000 power swivel is preferred by Geo-marine companies worldwide. In addition to this, our experience in manufacturing and the industry means we can quote and supply suitable water swivels, control panels and other equipment which may be needed for our clients' bespoke rig designs. We are also able to recommend specific gear arrangements and associated flow and pressure details to ensure the correct torque and rpm is achieved. MK 1000 POWER SWIVEL This model is fitted with a twin worm and single wheel gear totally enclosed in an oil bath case. Again, the head incorporates a 150mm I.D. hollow spindle which is mounted on taper roller bearings but the MK 1000 is powered by twin piston motors providing controlled rotation and torque in forward or reverse. The loading capacity is also much greater at 40+ tonnes. MK 500 ROTARY HEAD Fitted with a worm and wheel gear totally enclosed in an oil bath case, the Dando MK 500 incorporates a 150mm I.D. hollow spindle mounted on taper roller bearings. The head can then be powered by a single piston motor providing controlled rotation. 12
