(DM) PROGRAM ADMISSIONS ( ) About the University: The University was started in 1983 with the objective of empowering women through higher education and making them self-reliant. The University offers courses that serve the dual purpose of academic excellence with applied orientation. The courses aim at developing knowledge and skills required to seek gainful occupation, work ethics, work culture and developing social awareness and responsibility by interaction with society. The University is a State-wide University. The allocation of seats are in the ratio of 42:36:22 for Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema regions. The allocation for local areas and unreserved seats is as per Presidential Order, The University has entered into Distance Education Mode from the year It offers various PG, UG, Diploma and Certificate Courses (For details please visit The Directorate of Distance Education, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati offers Bachelor of Education Program based on the norms of NCTE right from the year Objectives of B.Ed(DM) Program: To understand and follow the implications of Philosophy of education of different Philosophers in teaching/education. To develop competence and commitment to teach students with individual differences by understanding the developmental issues. To expose the teachers/candidates to indigenous and modern technology applied in education. To prepare teachers/candidates to understand the pedagogy and its application. To create awareness to global changes and local realities and to act aptly. To prepare teachers/candidates with effective communicative skills, professional values and ethics. To sensitize the teachers/candidates with social responsibility by undertaking projects. Duration: The duration of the Program is of two years. Intake: The intake capacity for B.Ed(DM) Program is 500 women as per NCTE Revised norms of 2014 eligibility criteria.

2 Eligibility: The following categories are eligible for B.Ed(DM) Programme: 1. Trained in-service women teachers in Elementary Education with a minimum of 50% of marks in UG or in PG Degree 2. Woman candidates having completed a NCTE recognized Teacher Education programme through face to face mode with a minimum of 50% of marks in UG or in PG Degree 3. The reservation and relaxation in marks for the specified categories will be followed as per University rules. Curriculum: University will follow the revised State-Wide Common Curriculum of 2015 for B.Ed Program as per the revised norms of NCTE for B.Ed (ODL) Program. Note: 1. Teachers called for interview should submit their Service Certificates and No Objection Certificate countersigned by the competent authorities/authorities concerned at the time of admission. 2. The University will follow the rule(s) of reservation that are in vogue. The following combinations of school subjects are offered under Methodology Subjects (School Subjects). 1. Social Studies & Telugu Medium of instruction: English/Telugu Examinations: After successful completion of the academic activities of each year University Theory & Practical Examinations will be conducted. Thus there will be First Year Examinations and Second Year Examinations. Medium of Examinations: English/Telugu Study Material: Study material in English/Telugu will be supplied to the candidates at the time of admission/during the course periodically. Fee Structure: Rs.25,000/-(Rupees twenty five thousands only) is the total fee for 2 years towards tuition fee/special fee, user charges and study material.

3 First Year Fee Rs.12,500/- (Rupees twelve thousand five hundred only) to be paid at the time of admission. Second Year Fee Rs.12,500/- (Rupees twelve thousand five hundred only) to be paid within 15 days form the last day of University Theory Examination of First Year Program. Note: Fee once paid will not be refunded either in full or in part for any reason(s). Study Centres Directorate of Distance Education, SPMVV has study centres distributed over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States. The list of centres will be displayed during admission time. Each study centre accommodates 50 students. Application and prospectus can be obtained from the Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Sri Padmavati Mahila University, Tirupati, by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope (Rs. 45/- for Registered post) of size 28cms x 13cms along with a Demand Draft for Rs.600/- of any Nationalized Bank drawn in favour of the Registrar, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam payable at Tirupati, with the name and address of the applicant written on the reverse of the draft, or by submitting the Demand Draft in person on or before Application can also be downloaded from the University website Applications received without the required certificates cannot be considered. Applications received after the due date has to accompany the late fee of Rs.200/- (up to one month from the last date for the receipt of filled in application in the form of DD in favour of the Registrar, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam payable at Tirupati. Check whether the following documents are enclosed with the application: 1. Identity Card 2. Passport Size Photos 2, Stamp Size Photos 2 3. Attested Copy of S.S.C. 4. Attested copy of NCTE recognized Teacher Education Programme successfully completed through face-to-face mode.

4 5. Attested Copy of the Degree Certificate, Provisional Certificate of the qualifying examinations 6. Attested Copy of the Study Certificate of Intermediate and Degree/ Residence Certificate for a minimum of 7 years of stay. 7. Attested Copy of Conduct Certificate from the Institution last studied. 8. Attested Copy of the Latest Integrated Caste Certificate. 9. Attested copy of the Service Certificate and No Objection Certificate from the competent authority (for inservice teachers only). 10. Use only prescribed application supplied by the DDE or download from the DDE website Downloaded application should be accompanied by a D.D for Rs.600/- towards the cost of application drawn in favour of The Registrar, S.P. Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati. 2. No refund of fee will be made once paid. There is no fee concession for any category of students. Fee once paid by the candidate will neither be refunded nor adjusted partly or fully. 3. After admission, every student will be allotted an enrollment number which she should invariably mentioned along with period of study in all her future correspondence with DDE, failing which, DDE will not show any attention to such correspondence as it is difficult for identifying it. 4. Change in address & change of the Mobile Phone Number if any, should be immediately communicated to the DDE. 5. All communications will be communicated only through SMS alert. Therefore candidates must provide their Mobile Numbers correctly. Change in mobile number need to be informed immediately in writing to DDE, SPMVV. Common issues like sending of the materials etc, will be mailed to the candidates by regular post to the address of the candidates as per the records of DDE if needed. The students are advised to make necessary arrangements in their respective delivery post offices at their end to get the different communications from the DDE properly without delay. DDE will not bear responsibility for any postal delays. 6. Change of methodology or medium is permitted before the last date of admission on payment of Rs.600/- by way of D.D. drawn in favour of the Registrar, SPMVV, Tirupati along with request letter. 7. Change of study centre if desired, the candidates are advised to address a request letter to the Director, DDE stating the reasons for change of the study centre along with a fee of Rs.5000/- by way of D.D. drawn in favour of The Registrar, SPMVV, Tirupati and such request shall be considered if the reasons stated are quite satisfactory and if there is a vacancy in that study center 8. 80% of attendance in theory and 100% of attendance in practicals is must for every candidate seeking B.Ed(DM)Program. No condonation for any reason(s) stated thereof shall be permitted, failing which the candidate has to putup the remaining percentage of attendance in each year of the program by paying the fee as given below: i) After 1 st year Rs.3,000/- ii) After 2 nd year Rs.4,000/- iii) After 3 rd year Rs.5,000/-

5 If the Candidate could not complete B.Ed(DM) Program within the scheduled period of the Program, she will be given chance of completing the same in three consecutive years, failing which her admission into the course gets cancelled automatically. If any teacher/candidate admitted in any of the study centers for any reason(s) could not put in the required percentage of attendance in theory and/or practicum as per the norms of the program, has to attend the same at their respective study centers by paying a fee to the University as per the norms of the University. 9. The University reserves the right to start or not to start any course if sufficient number of applications are not received. 10. Candidates should abide by the conditions, rules and regulations stipulated by the DDE and the University applicable from time to time. 11.
