Box 80225, Lansing, Michigan Telephone (517) Forensic Document Examiner (5/1996 to present) Founding partner of this corporation, serving as the President, my primary role is as a forensic document examiner performing casework examinations, issuing reports and testifying to the results when called upon to do so. Michigan Department of State Police, Lansing Laboratory Detective First Lieutenant (1/2010 to 8/2012) Assigned to the Forensic Science Division, at the Lansing Laboratory, as the Unit Supervisor and Statewide Program Coordinator of the Questioned Document Unit. Along with the normal casework responsibilities of a forensic document examiner are the responsibilities of administrative and technical supervision of other examiners assigned to the Questioned Document Unit. As the Program Coordinator, I was also responsible for the supervision and training of employees assigned to the Questioned Document Unit, which serves the entire state of Michigan from the Lansing Laboratory, along with the day-to-day operation of the Questioned Document Unit. Serve as Acting Laboratory Director with oversight of all laboratory operations and disciplines during the Director s absence. Michigan Department of State Police, Forensic Science Division Acting Inspector - Assistant Division Commander Laboratory Operations (1/2009 to 1/2010) Assigned as the Acting Assistant Division Commander Laboratory Operations to the Forensic Science Division. Served as an Assistant Division Commander, reporting to the Director of the Forensic Science Division. Responsible for oversight and supervision of the Laboratory Directors of the seven State Police Laboratories throughout the State of Michigan, along with supervision of the Health and Safety Officer, and two Equipment Technicians. Responsibilities for oversight of all laboratory operations, including budget, personnel, position development and establishment, grants, contracts, legal, purchasing, hiring, promotion, facilities, equipment, instrumentation and other laboratory operational issues. Continued to serve as Program Coordinator for the Questioned Document discipline. Michigan Department of State Police, Lansing Laboratory. Detective First Lieutenant (7/2005 to 1/2009) Specialist Lieutenant (10/2002 to 7/2005) Assigned to the Forensic Science Division, at the Lansing Laboratory, as the Unit Supervisor and Statewide Program Coordinator of the Questioned Document Unit. Along with the normal casework responsibilities of a forensic document examiner are the responsibilities of administrative and technical supervision of other examiners assigned to the unit.
2 As the Program Coordinator, I was also responsible for the supervision and training of employees assigned to the Questioned Document Unit, which serves the entire state of Michigan from the Lansing laboratory, along with the day-to-day operation of the Questioned Document Unit. In this role, I was also responsible for the writing and updating the procedures and training manuals for the Questioned Document Unit, administration of external proficiency tests, instrument research and acquisition, equipment and supply purchases, attending Program Coordinator/Laboratory Director Meetings, and serving as the subject matter expert for questioned documents. Served as Acting Laboratory Director with oversight of all laboratory operations and disciplines during the Director s absence. Responsible for Crime Scene response, team callouts, supervision and support, and crime scene report review. Served as interim supervisor of the Latent Print Unit for the Lansing Laboratory.
