3 4300 Catalog JI Fittings Introduction Parker introduced Japanese Industrial tandard (JI) adapters in the early 990s to address market requirements for OEM and replacement fittings. These fittings are typically used as hose adapters on equipment designed and/or manufactured in Japan and Korea. Parker s JI adapters are designed with 30 flare and 60 cone connections and typically incorporate BP threads. Parker JI adapters are designed with and BPT port ends and two styles of hose ends: T4 (30 flare, threads) and P4 (60 cone, threads). Two additional Parker series of fittings, KA (Komatsu flare) and K4 (B B500) adapters, are similar to JI style fittings and appear in sections J and K of this catalog. The T4 and P4 interfaces provide end user flexibility of connecting to the most common Parker hose ends available as listed in Table I. Parker s JI adapter offering that uses the port connection are manufactured in accordance with the JI B35 type O port connection which is commonly used for higher pressure systems. Fig. I illustrates this port connection and Table I shows appropriate JI B35 O-rings and dash sizes. It should be noted that Parker offers two very similar cone style adapters P4 and K4. Parker s K4 (60 cone, ) fittings conform to B500, while Parker s JI cone adapters meet JI B8363 specifications. These fittings, while very similar, are not interchangeable. ee the K4 section of this catalog for more specific information on interchangeability. Threads: The standard JI products are manufactured with the thread forms listed below: Threads: IO 8- G, JI B 00, BPT Threads: IO 7/, JI B 003 Identification: All Parker JI fittings are stamped with JI for positive identification and differentiation from similar style fittings. Assembly and Installation Please refer to ection T for the assembly and installation instructions for JI fittings. Materials pecifications JI fitting components are manufactured using state-of-the-art equipment and manufacturing technologies to assure construction integrity, highest strength, long service life and the highest quality. These materials are shown in Table I3. Upon request, JI fittings can be furnished in materials other than Parker s standard steel offering.
