3 Roadmap Project Goal Create integrated, robust and proactive programs of academic and social support tied to expected learning outcomes that engage students at entrance and teach them how to become active partners in their own quests for educational success. The Roadmap Project is funded by MetLife Foundation. Theory of Action 3

Link: One paragraph general project description due Friday, March 29. Strategies for Understanding Student Success Considering the importance of context and culture Understanding the role of the inquiry process Maximizing existing data and creating meaningful evidence Using evidence to develop guiding questions for the change process 4

Inquiry activities to gather additional data Project Meeting April 4, 2013 Developing Institutional Roadmaps for Student Success Thursday, April 4, 8:30 am 5:00 pm Pre Conference Workshop at AAC&U s conference: Student Success and the Quality Agenda April 4 6, 2013, Miami, Florida Hilton Miami Downtown Project will support registration for two team members and reimbursements of reasonable travel expenses (up to $1200, guidelines included on reimbursement form). 5

7 Institute Curriculum Four Tracks: High Impact Learning Useful Evidence Designs for Student Success Leadership Development Special Roadmap networking and mentorship opportunities to connect with phase one leadership institutions. Action Plan Institute activities are designed to help each team create and rehearse an action plan. At the end of the Institute, each team makes a formal presentation of its action plan to the liaisons and the other cluster teams. 7

8 Institute Application Deadline: Monday, March 4, 2013 The narrative should be clear and concise, and should build directly on your planning work for the Roadmap Project as a whole. Areas to address: Need Goals Contributions Team Institute Fees and Travel Guidelines Fees for four team members are covered by the Roadmap Project, and include: Individual guest rooms for four nights (arrival on June 11 and departure on June 15, 2013) Tuition, materials, consultations Breakfast and lunch each day, opening and closing dinners $600 per team member to be reimbursed for airfare, transportation, and additional meals 8
