3 1. Introduction Newsletters are important part of marketing. This method is tested and widely used. It will help you to get more orders and newsletter subscribers. How it works? This extension show one time per customer popup window with newsletter subscribtion form and suggestions to subscribe and get free gift coupon (e.g 5 euro.) for it. If customer has small coupon he want to buy more. PRO version has popup delay funcion. Don't show popup immediately after page was loaded. Better practice is when customer sees first your store and only than sees popup window. Installation 2.1 Manual Installation If you are using Newsletter Popup FREE version, please disable or uninstall this version Extract ES_Newsletterpopup-x.x.x.tgz archive Move file to your web server. No need changes in existing files Clear your store cache. This you can do here: Admin Panel > System > Cache Management > Select All > Actions Refresh: Submit Go to Admin Panel > System > Configuration > MageTrend Extensions > Newsletter Popup PRO If you see like in 2.1 picture, jump to step! 2.1 picture If you will get an error like in 2.2 picture, you need logout and login again in Magento admin panel. Please repeat step. 4

5 2.2 picture If you are using custom theme, copy files from: app\design\frontend\base\default\layout\newssubscribers.xml to app\design\frontend\default\your_theme\layout\newssubscribers.xml and also copy from: app\design\frontend\base\default\template\newssubscribers\ to app\design\frontend\default\your_theme\template\newssubscribers\ Installation is completed, congratulation! If something failed, please contact with our support team. 5

6 2.2 Installation with Magento Downloader If you are using Newsletter Popup FREE version, please disable or uninstall this version Go to url Login with admin username and password Find the section: Direct package file upload > Upload package file. Choose extension archive (ES_Newsletterpopup-x.x.x.tgz) and press upload button Clear your store cache. This you can do here: Admin Panel > System > Cache Management > Select All > Actions: Refresh: Submit Go to Admin Panel > System > Configuration > MageTrend Extensions > Newsletter Popup PRO If you see like in 2.1 picture, jump to step! If you will get an error like in 2.2 picture, you need logout and login again in Magento admin panel. Configuration Extension configuration path: Admin Panel > System > Configuration > MageTrend Extensions > Newsletter Popup PRO 3.1 General configuration Include jquery Library turn off if jquery library already exist. Mostly jquery is already included Development mode turn on and popup will show every time 3.2 Popup configuration Show popup this enabled or disabled popup window Show After Seconds popup delay time. 0 - no delay Theme chose popup theme 3.1 picture. 8 3.3 picture. Clear theme Title row 1/ Title row 2/ Text popup information Cookie Name Name of cookie. If you change this, popup will show again for all customers Cookie Life Time (days) Life time of cookie. After this time, popup will show again. 3.3 Coupon configuration First you need to create a coupon. Go to Admin Panel > Promotions > Shopping Cart Price Rules >Add New Rule. Choose "Coupon Specific Coupon and checked "Use Auto Generation" 8

9 3.4 picture. How to correctly fill the information How to join coupon and newsletter. Go to Admin Panel > System > Configuration > MageTrend Extensions > Newsletter Popup PRO > Coupon Settings > Shopping Cart Price Rule > Choose your before created coupon. Save settings. 9

11 3.3.8 Add coupon code to newsletter success . First go to Admin Panel > System > Transactional s > Add New OR edit your exist template. Insert this code in your template: {{var subscriber.couponcode}} 3.6 picture To avoid new coupon generation for already subscribed or re-subscribed s, use this code in template: {{if subscriber.isobjectnew()}} {{var subscriber.couponcode}} {{/if}} 11

12 Set before created template as primary template. Go to Admin Panel > System > Configuration > Newsletter > Subscription Options > Success Template > Choose your template. 3.7 picture. 12

Auto call and button means that popup will show automatically and could be triggered with button Button Position button has four default positions: left-center, right-center, left-bottom, rightbottom.
