5 Research question Does financial aid impact loan taking, employment, and study progress? Are there differences across students from different parental background? Data from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden give variation in financial aid schemes

7 Education systems in the Nordic countries Countries share similar approach to financing higher education Primarily public funding and no tuition fees Some differences in financial aid schemes. From Norway to Denmark. Universal access to financial aid. Only Finland has means testing based on rents. Role of loans, which is understudied, is the major difference across countries. A lot of other differences ie. access to education, location of education, quality of education, tax system.
