In response, Blue Water Media built a cloud-based SasS platform, which spun off into its own unique company, WATERFALL SOFTWARE. What trends in technology are you noticing? Cloud consolidation and software as a service has gained traction recently. Traditional desktop computers are declining in use. Thin clients, tablets and anything mobile is where we see growth potential. We have also seen a major shift recently in the Government space to open source technologies. What up-and-coming technologies excite you? Advances in cloud, cyber security, native mobile app development (specifically objective c), Drupal, and Ruby on Rails are all technologies that I m excited about right now. Our new SaaS offering, Waterfall Software, is a cloud-based software solution that is ideal for multi-unit organizations and Government. How is technology contributing to your company s competitive advantage? We have a very active staff and rigorous ongoing educational program at Waterfall Software, which keeps us on the forefront of new technology releases and applications. The litmus test for us is to ask, will this technology enable our clients to work more efficiently and does it make business sense for us to make the recommendation. Suggesting new technology doesn t necessarily equate to competitive advantage, but if we can answer yes to our litmus test then we can more than likely bring value to our customers.
